1. No gas for stove and fireplace.2. The edge of the area rug in one bedroom was curled up, creating a trip hazard.3. There were three remote controls for the TV and no explanation for how to use them other than for guests to use existing personal accounts/subscriptions. Some type of basic service should be available.The accommodations were good and the space was comfortable. Some notes related to the HVAC system were unclear/confusing. Would prefer dealing with an owner host rather than a large rental management firm.

Location Cleanliness Ease of Check InWe enjoyed the place. We may not stay there again; two people don't need four bedrooms. We almost didn't rent this place.Gave my CC to VRBO to hold the rental, immediately received a contract - asked to pay "outside of the VRBO platform, which you should never do. I researched the rental company to ensure it was legitimate—the Outer Banks Blue rental company. Fortunately, they are. Likes/Loved: Short walk to the beach. Close to restaurants. Quiet neighborhood. Corner lot - lots of privacy. Large parking area (six cars easily). Living room, kitchen, dining area - lovely. Loved the fireplace. Good beds. Plenty of dishes, pots and pans, large bowls for salads, and cooking utensils. There is a Krups coffee pot, a regular coffee pot, a toaster, a blender, and a KitchenAid. There were 2-3 beach chairs. This place is charming.Dislikes (if you rent here, come prepared): Only one white towel per person. I have long hair, and without a 2nd towel, it is hard to dry off and to dry my hair. No liquid dish soup. No beach towels. No coffee filters or even a few Krups coffees to get you started. Teeny-tiny bar soaps. Very few hand towels. The pool area was a bit tired and shabby. Although if my grandkids were with me, they wouldn't have cared. They provide the minimum: 1 toilet paper roll per bathroom, not one extra. No Kleenex anywhere. Only one additional garbage bag for the kitchen.

Very nice property, good pool, nice decks. Hot tub smelled like way too much chlorine was used, was unusable. Short easy walk to the beach. Convenient distance to grocery and shops.

OBX Memories

Another relaxing week in the Outer Banks!The house was beautiful, located in a great neighborhood, easy check in and check out.We sat on the deck and listen to the ocean, dud some sightseeing (or shopping), walked to the ocean, hung out at the pool, ride bikes, anything we wanted to do, we did. There were so many restaurants we didn't know where to start. 🤣During this year's family vacation the youngest member of our family, who is 2 1/2 months old made his first trip to the Outer Banks and our granson propsed to his girlfriend.There was a lot to celebrate, we are blessed. Can't wait for the next trip.

Family Time

This property worked well for our family. Most of the bedrooms are on the second floor with an additional master bedroom on the top floor. It was about 1/3 mile from the beach. It was great to have a pool to cool off in at the end of each day. We had an air-conditioning issue and the team at Outer Banks Blue was responsive and came to put window units in each window. It would’ve helped to have a broom in the house. There was a vacuum, but with all hardwood floors and a baby in the house, it made it difficult not to have many cleaning supplies.

This was our first time at this house. The house was great. Plenty of room for everyone. It was a short walk to the beach as well. We had an issue with the ice maker but it was quickly remedied by our Maintenance Manager Robert. This was our first stress free vacation we’ve had over the last 6 years. Thank you!!

Shark n Awe

Things could have been cleaner! No lock or handle on basement door. Dishwasher washer, broke during our stay.Motor for air conditioner broke serving the lower level bedrooms.. Window units were placed where possible. Unit not fixed until Thursday. Inspected for home before we checked in, stated light bulb was needed in shower of upper ensuit. He didn't have any extras and we could purchase a new one. Come to find out it wasn't screwed in all the way. There were large cockroaches, in house and in pool and upper front porch. The swimming pool was great, we used it all but two days because of weather change. Had a great time despite all the problems.

We had the best framily (friends and family) vacay!

Our group of 8 had the best time in this rental property! We were 4 married couples and enjoyed being able to all hang out in the main living area together, while also being able to have our own private areas to retreat to when we wanted some privacy as well. The the house was very clean, the kitchen well-stocked, and the hot tub was amazing, we used it every night of our stay! We loved the large farmhouse table and open layout of the kitchen and living room. The slider doors and all the windows let in such beautiful sunlight. The house was a short distance to the beach and several of us went almost everyday, either for the sunrise, or just to walk along the beach. I would suggest taking a car if you want to go for the sunrise, as the street leading from the house to the beach is very dark with no street lights, otherwise, it’s an easy enough walk from the house to the beach. We had an issue with the stove not working, but the realty company got someone out within the hour to assess it, and had it fixed within a couple hours after that. Each person I talked to during that process, from the one who took the call, to the gentleman who came out for the assessment, to the man who actually delivered the new tanks, since we were completely out of gas, were all so kind. Additional lighting around the hot tub and pool would be great for nighttime use, and relocating the basketball court to the wider part of the driveway would also be helpful, since some of the guys in the group kept slipping off the side. All in all I would recommend this rental to anyone and hope to stay again in the near future. **I noticed a couple of other reviewers mentioned cockroaches, and we did see 2 in the house during our stay, one was a baby on the lowest level, and there was one that was a little larger on the second level. They were the only two we saw the entire time and we only saw them the first night we were there. Cockroaches are very common in the area, so it is not a reflection of the property’s cleanliness, it was very clean, but I figured I would mention it so that people wouldn’t be surprised if they came across them. All in all this is a great property and you won’t be disappointed if you stay!

Good but needs some attention

Overall the property was nice. Location and size of the house were great! 8 of us stayed there for a week. If you are looking for just a place to sleep/eat, this house is perfect. If you’re wanting a place to hang out and chill in the house, I would not recommend this property until they fix most of the issues that several people have had. After 2 nights, some issues became pretty annoying. The mattresses were old, hard and sunken in the middle. There was a large wasp nest outside on the main porch that prevented us from being able to go outside. The hotel-level secure WiFi prevented us from using our Apple TV because we could not login to it. And even when you could login to the Wi-Fi (mobile device/laptop), the signal was terrible. The couches in the living room were partially broken and super uncomfortable. The gas fireplace in the living room was also not working when we arrived. One of the shower drain stoppers was broken and would not drain properly. The property has potential to be great! Really needs some minor TLC to get it back to what it was when the pictures were taken.

Southern Shores

Overall we enjoyed our stay. There were some minor housekeeping issues. A toilet that someone had put a bar of soap in but there were plenty of others for us to use. The management offered to send someone right away but we declined. The shower curtains downstairs need to be replaced and there was some mold in the rec room bathroom all of which we brought to the property management attention upon our departure. Again we enjoyed our stay, and will probably be back if not at this property then definitely another in the vicinity.

Beautiful beach house!

Loved the location, tucked away but close to the beach. Plenty of room for everyone. Loved that each bedroom had a deck and bathroom as well as extra bathrooms so you didn’t have to go in anyone’s. Lots of natural light. Loved the pool and hot tub(outside shower is perfect for sand removal) lots of storage space is a plus. Beds were comfortable. Would definitely stay again! The only thing that I would’ve liked was a vacuum to clean the floors but they did have a broom so that helped.

Duck Location

This property was in a great location very close to the beach (walking distance 5 mins) and 10 mins from all the shops! The house was easy to find! Nice and Clean! They did not have a lot of games or puzzles like other rentals we have been to. So bring yours from home. They also did not have a lot of the cooking utensils and other basic items (whisk, baking dishes, tuber ware for left overs, scissors, pens, paper etc. ) The pool was nice as well! Overall great house to stay in for vacation!

Disappointed

When we arrived the grounds are overgrown, the driveway is located on Crooked Back Loop. The exterior of the house has not been cleaned so there are several spider nests (we had to clean around the lower lever door before going in) as well as roaches. I know they will be present but with the amount of nests it obvious nothing is being done to make them less present. The pool area has different furniture that consists of rusted table and chairs and some composite lounge chairs. We were left instructions to leave the hose in the pool, turn it on Monday let it run for one to two hours and the pool person would be back Tuesday. We noticed the hose was scheduled to intermittently run which made us feel like there might be a slow leak somewhere. The hot tub is missing the head/neck rests and is pretty stained as well as a very small piece missing from the exterior. The second level bathrooms, King on the back side has a mold above the window as well as the shower curtain and the liner is too short. The second king on the front side, the same the vent is disgusting and the drain would not stay open. The cleanliness was that of a quick surface clean. The third level king room, the fan didn’t work, the left sink was clogged (reported never fixed). My husband worked for an hour and unclogged the sink after waiting two days. The gas stove the front left burner wouldn’t light and the others worked intermittently, the refrigerator wouldn’t dispense the ice (both reported), the curtains had what looked like dried brownie batter splattered on them. We battled ants by the kitchen window (reported), bought organic drops and put them out on tin foil and it worked. The living furniture is not what is shown and is very uncomfortable. The rugs are worn and not vacuumed. The kitchen is well stocked. No towels for the master suite and reported that as well as all the other items noted as being reported. We were told a work order was being submitted, towels came Sunday but we never heard anything else about the work order and nothing was fixed. The oven and stove shut off mid cooking Sunday, after a few minutes it started again. Because we thought it was out of gas someone came to check that. This house needs some serious attention and time without renters for attention. It is my hopes this will be taken as positive feedback by the owners and agency and hope its fixed before the next renters so they can enjoy it.

Great family vacation

The house was beautiful and as advertised. Overall clean and new. One bed had some black hair in the sheets and ? on a pillowcase. Wish there was an elevator. We had a great week with family despite cool and very rainy weather. Check in and out was very easy. Beds comfy...ceiling fans quiet .. well stocked kitchen

Wedding Weekend

We stayed with all our family from all over the states. 10 people, to get married on the Beach. We danced in the living room, we had amazing photos of our cake and wedding day in the house, and it was a comfortable stay. The door code was not working and it was a quick response with great guest services to get into the home. I will say on a evening walk to the beach, one person in our group was struck by a car and he passed away, so if your walking be very careful as cars go fast on the beach road. It’s close to the beach but the crosswalks are very scary and change fast! We had many tears and the home brought us comfort. The hot tub was very nice. We saw lots of shells, we saw lots of wild deer and lots of birds and other beautiful wild life.

Southern Shores

This property in southern shores offers a convenient location and plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms for a large family or multiple families traveling together. It’s a close walk to the beach and there is plenty of space for parking. Well the pictures on the listing show the home at it’s finest, the house itself could use some TLC. Upon arrival the third floor (kitchen, living room, master) smelled of bacon grease. After cleaning all the surfaces ourselves and wiping down the stove we were never able to get rid of the smell and eight days later it was still apparent. The walls show lots of wear and tear and the entire house could use a fresh coat of paint inside and out. The rugs, curtains, and throw pillows had stains and could use replacing and contributed to a feeling of uncleanliness. The appliances also could be replaced or repaired the microwave clock doesn’t work and filters were covered in grease. The refrigerator ice make doesn’t dispense ice but will make ice. We also noticed there isn’t a single clock in any bedroom. The only clock in the entire house is the one on the stove. The property had basic supplies but lacked a broom/vacuum, and a laundry basket. The pots and pans are very well used and could use replacing as well. The house has a wonderfully layout for entertaining family on the third floor but the couches are awful! They are hard, uncomfortable, and small. It make sitting around not so enjoyable and most of the time we sat around the large kitchen table. This could easily be a 5 star property but it needs some basic maintenance and repair. We enjoyed our vacation but unless these things were addressed we would look for a different rental.

Overall nice place

House is generally nice and situated on lot that minimizes sight of other houses. Pool and hot tub are great. Could have been cleaner overall and there were bugs/insects inside house. Very little supplies like salt, pepper, dish detergent, sponge, trash bags, etc.
