Welcome to Better Sand at Sea Dunes by KEES Vacations!

Your 2-story townhome right across from the beach provides an oasis of relaxation during your Outer Banks vacation. The first level boasts an amenity that is very sought-after - an enclosed garage! In addition to that, you will also find your laundry area.

Both bedrooms are located on the second level. One bedroom features a King bed En Suite with a private balcony with a porch swing. It's a great spot to sip your morning coffee or enjoy some quiet conversation. The second bedroom is a Queen En Suite.

As you reach the top of the stairs to the great room, you are greeted by a wall of windows leading out to another balcony with stunning ocean views. Perhaps a meal al fresco is in order! The great room is bright and cheerful, with coastal colors and wood accents. The living area provides plenty of comfortable seating, and a flat-screen TV invites you all to sit down and enjoy the latest summer blockbuster together.

Also on the third level is the efficient kitchen fully equipped with everything needed to create a wonderful meal or a simple snack - with a view of the ocean while you make it. The open layout with two stools at the breakfast bar ensures the cook is always part of the conversation! The dining table seats 4 and is the perfect place to recount the day's fun and plan the evening's adventures! If you'd like to take your meal outdoors, the community gazebo features tables and chairs.

Experience resort vacationing as a guest at Sea Dunes. Take advantage of the many amenities included in your rental. Some of these include a community pool and hot tub, tennis, basketball, volleyball and shuffleboard courts. Additionally, enjoy the clubhouse with its racquetball court, pool table, air hockey table, and fitness center.

When all is quiet and still, you can feel the peace surrounding you here on the Outer Banks. In the perfect location at Milepost 4 in Kitty Hawk, you are just moments from all the shops, restaurants and attractions that you love on the Outer Banks. The Sea Dunes community boasts semi-oceanfront unobstructed views, thanks to no structures across Highway 12, as well as a dedicated boardwalk. It's a cinch to spend your day enjoying the sandy shores and gorgeous water!

**Private outdoor community pools and/or waterpark play areas are available, weather permitting, beginning on Memorial Day and close after Labor Day. Please know that pool operating dates are subject to change at any point, for any reason.**

Better Sand is pet-friendly, so there is no need to leave your pooch at home! For a small one-time fee of $155, you can bring up to two dogs to our pet-friendly property. No cats or other animals, dogs only.

Check-In begins at 4pm. Your keyless entry code will begin granting access at this time.

  • One of the northernmost towns along the coast in North Carolina, Duck is an idyllic town on the shores of the Currituck Sound. This shot was taken from the town's boardwalk while looking West over the sounds. It is advisable to visit the location in Winter as that is off season - so you can spend more time taking in the beauty of the North Carolina coastline and also sunsets are usually much more picturesque around the time owing to the cooler temperatures and lower amount of atmospheric haze. Plenty of things around Duck to see. Further north, there is the Currituck Lighthouse where you can climb the steps to the top of the lighthouse. North of Corolla, there is an area where you can drive along the coast on the sand - 4X4s a must. Here you can spot some Spanish Mustangs, horses out in the wild. If you're lucky, you can spot them running along the beach in the surf. I'd recommend taking a tour through the Corolla Wild Horse Fund - the money from the tours is used to help the wild horses in every which way possible and the staff are knowledgeable and friendly. Great Location and nice place to stay

Check in was easy. Kitchen was stocked with all the items we needed to make meals there. My kids enjoyed Wi-Fi access without any major issues. Really the location was great because it was steps from the beach and had many restaurants that were walkable.

Nope

It may have been a nice, well appointed place a decade ago. The cupboards, shelves and closets were labeled with things that were no longer there. We inquired and were told, "Not responsible." Thread bare towels, no extra toilet paper, moldy shower curtains, stained carpet were low class. I'm not a big fan of liquid shower soap but the dispensers were empty anyway. On the plus side we could see the ocean from the balcony. The pool was nice but there were no big towels.

Close to Beach

Pros - 2 min walk to beach, 2 decks — 1 with partial view of ocean and 1 that is enclosed / private on 2nd floor, check in / out process was simple, overall nice place to stay in Kitty Hawk. Con - Place was not thoroughly cleaned upon arrival. Cushions were in a vertical position on main couch and a lot of sand that we cleaned up ourselves.

Perfect Beach Vacation

This condo was the perfect fit for my family of three. The location is perfect too. It is directly across the street from the beach with no oceanfront properties to block your view! It is also located next to a public bath house which makes rinsing off sandy bathing suits before returning home so convenient.

NEVER again rental!!!

This unit was unclean, dirty and was not as projected on website. The floors were sandy and filthy, the stair rails were sticky to touch, the deck was weathered with nails showing, and board protruding up which was dangerous. We had to use the garage door because the front door would not open after our first use. The washing machine and dryer were extremely outdated and during our stay the washer stopped working and was replaced with another outdated washer that allowed only the use of hot water which faded some of our clothes. This unit needs a lot of TLC. It could be very charming and the location is ideal. Whomever cleans/maintains this unit needs to be fired. The lack of care needs to be reported to the owner. I have pictures I can share, and I want to be reimbursed for the uncleanliness, the time I spent trying to get the unit up to the standards projected in the website pictures, for the lack of use and extremely poor quality of the washer/dryer as well as the lose of clothing due to the extreme heat of the water as the hot/ cold functions of the washer were not operating. I was never given notice of this when washer was installed. Also when I wanted to clean the floors the mop provided was filthy and there was no bucket. When I tried to use the sweeper, the putrid smell made it impossible to use. I have copies of texts with KEE vacation representatives that I can share as well.

Great location

Overall, we really enjoyed our stay here. It's easy beach access in a nice area with great dining and you don't want for much. The pool in the community and arcade games in the community space were a huge plus as we had little kids in tow. During our time unfortunately there wasn't laundry or a functioning shower in the garage for beach rinse off but there was a hose in the garage that filled that void. I believe the laundry situation was being fixed, however. The bunk bed situation is a great space saver, but it was very squeaky and we decided against letting anyone sleep in it.

Place was pretty accurate in everything it had in the listing, very nice property, could use some TLC. Could’ve been cleaner in the bathrooms and the washer and dryer need more stability so they don’t wobble all over the place. Very friendly area and close to the beach!

Spring break

The condo was adequate in the amount of room we needed. It’s centrally located to a lot of attractions both north and south on the coast line. The condo was very clean but had some outdated appliances. None the less we had what we needed, and we could have our dog with us. We would stay here again.

The texting to communicate with the property manager was nice. They were always super quick to respond and very helpful with my questions. I loved the location and beach access We only had two slight disappointments, someone’s dirty towels were left all over the basement floor, there were food crumbs all over the couch and in the couch cushions. And we found a few grey bugs crawling in our one bathroom. Other than that the place was nice and we really did enjoy our stay. We’d definitely stay again just hope the couch was clean and there weren’t dirty towels laying around.

family vacation

The condo was nice but older and in need of some deep cleaning. Having soap, tp, towels, sheets, laundry detergent, etc. already there was a nice added bonus. Quick walk to the beach as well as several restaurants. And great view from the balcony.

Shabby and run down place

The place needs some new carpet or flooring- carpet was moldy smelling and nasty. There’s cockroach’s in bedroom with bunk beds. The door code didn’t work so we had to call management company. Not happy with the place and definitely not going back or recommending it unfortunately.

Over all great experience. The location of this property is perfect. Right across the street from beach access, and also great view of the ocean from the back deck. 10/10 would recommend for your OBX vacation stay!

Get access to the beach!

The beach is in walking distance and it a perfect location. If you don't like the beach, then you can sit on the upper porch and watch the ocean. It had everything we wanted for our stay. Lots of steps. Only issue we encountered was the TV's and internet was not as easy as appeared. Had to log in each time we wanted to watch TV. No written instructions so it was trail and error. Had to log into my home internet provider to get local channels which does not make sense. Password is lower case but does not look lower case. Overall our stay was fun and full of sun!
