This is in principle a ski resort right on the slopes of Levi with ski in and out. It is widely advertised that in Levi the season opens early October since this is one of the Northermost ski resorts in Europe.
However, not at The Panorama!
We visited around November 1 and the skilifts leading to the hotel were closed including the gondola which you need to go to the nice ski village at the bottom of the hill where rentals, shops and restaurants are located. No rentals or ski passes were available at the hotel. Not even the stairs/path to the village had been cleared and we were told to take the 4.5 km road to get there!
To get to the hotel from the slopes you had to cross an unprepared, hazardous, unmarked and unlit slope.
In other words, the slopes and lifts were open for the season at Levi but not the Panorama Hotel . So our advice is to avoid this hotel in the shoulder seasons and only consider it in Dec-Feb.
To be fair, the hotel itself is newish and nice. Breakfast is great and there is a good restaurant and nice sauna area with a view. Rooms are spacious with a drying closet for your wet gear. On the other hand the mini bar is empty and room is only cleaned if you ask for it.
Next time we will stay in the village.
