Hale Honu is a luxurious and spacious one-bedroom condo with views of enchanting He'eia Bay and Pacific Ocean. Located in upscale Kanaola Resort, a private gated beautifully landscaped 17-acre community. Resort amenities include 3 pools, hot tubs, lighted tennis courts, clubhouse and barbecue areas. Enjoy the oceanfront pool while dolphins swim by, relax in the quite pool, or splash together in the family pool. A/C included in the nightly rate

The name Hale Honu is Hawaiian for House of Turtles which is the perfect name for this tropical retreat decorated with various aspects of honu and specialty art.
* Minutes walk or ride from famed Keauhou Bay where you can enjoy outrigger canoe paddling, swimming, kayaking, diving, stand up paddling, or jump on a fishing boat to catch your dinner.
* Also minutes from Hale Honu is Keauhou Shopping Center offering restaurants, grocery store, shave ice, movie theater, emergency medical clinic, clothes or gift shopping and drug store.
* There is so much to do near Hale Honu; snorkel at Kahalu'a beach park, body surf at Magic Sands beach, schedule exciting excursions right from the bay where you are staying. Take a boat ride or drive to Captain Cook Bay with world-renowned hiking, snorkeling, swimming, and paddle boarding.

* Drive or take the Keauhou Trolley to Kailua Village for more restaurants, shops, beaches, entertainment, libations, and tour Huliheʻe Palace the former summer home of many of Hawaii's royal families.

Our stay at this condo was exceptional from beginning to end. Communication from the host was excellent, the condo is exceptionally maintained with comfortable furnishings and luxurious artwork, and the checkout process was super easy. It was also important to us that the AC worked well and kept us cool! We would love to stay at this condo again!

The condo was beautifully decorated and extremely comfortable. We were pleasantly surprised by all the amenities that came with the condo such as beach chairs, umbrellas, a cooler, and beach towels. Additionally, we definitely utilized the amenities in the community. The only criticism I have is that you can hear foot steps from the condo above head, especially if those staying upstairs have children, who don't tend to walk softly or quietly. It was pretty loud at night.

Please repair the dishwasher and fridge cooling issue in the main compartment.

Great property in a great location!

Great view of the ocean from the lanai! Very clean condo with all of the amenities: full kitchen, multiple hot tubs and pools on the premises, plenty of towels/linens, and easy to access parking. Overall, this was a great place! Just a couple of issues: (1) it was unclear that we needed to check in with the property office when arriving to get our gate card. Not a huge issue since there is an intercom that allows you to talk to security when the gate guard isn't there. (2) There were still just a few fire ants in the kitchen. Again, not a huge issue, but we had to re-wash some pans and dishes a few times. That being said, still 100% worth the stay!

Awesome place, great location

Beautiful unit in a great location. The condo looked even better than on the pictures and was fully equipped for all cooking needs. There was also plenty of extra towels, beach towels, beach chairs; boogie boards, umbrellas and coolers. The place was very clean, had very nice modern showers and very comfortable orthopedic king size bed with great linens. I loved the separate AC units. The space seem to be bigger than one bedroom. Location and amenities were also great, especially ocean front pool. Grocery store and shopping plaza with restaurants was just a few minutes away as well as a harbor with different ocean adventures. Would stay in this unit again. Thank you for all your help and hospitality.

Beautifully alluring view

FORM: It’s beautifully appointed, like something out of a magazine shoot - the lure is definitely the lanai view of the bay. The kitchen tools, dishes, and utensils were abundant and the knives sharp. It seems much thought went into ample furniture and art. Internet was sufficiently strong. And there was a great supply of towels. Lots of drawer storage in bedroom. Lots of storage space in under-sink drawers in bathroom. Hooks on back of door and on wall very helpful. There were 3 pools within east walking distance. FUNCTION: Electronically sent directions for parking/check-in were confusing - owners/VRBO directions differed from those at gated entrance - you don’t go through the gate and directly to the condo; you must “check in” at the office. Only one person on duty and a line of people needing support… and no seating near check-in desk. Lots of furniture, almost too much. Dining furniture is pretty enough but not very physically supportive for a variety of body types. No suitcase storage Or luggage rack, so suitcases on the floor added to cluttered feel. Murphy bed comfy but no clear storage for longer term stays (credenza outside bath #2, maybe…?) Note that “upstairs” from front door means it is a **middle flat. Topmost floor occupants were very stompy and loud before 7 am, after 10 am, and between… Please add written instructions to figure out TV (manually on/off cable box for each use!). Tiny swarming ants plagued the kitchen, especially in/near sink. Countertop color/design choice (while pretty!) made spotting insects more difficult. Both bathrooms are form over function - while very pretty to look at aren’t as functional as they could be. Showers don’t have optimal water pressure and no handheld device for more efficient cleaning. The (cool-looking, pretty!) sluice-type sink faucet created much more messy splash outside sink, also, no sluice/overflow drain... and to control drain stopper, there’s no external lever (one must plunge into water to release). Master bedroom “lanai” is indoors and unfortunately faces the parking area. Bedroom closet only accommodates for shirts and pants, no space to hang longer garments. OVERALL: This condo’s highlights (the lanai view, kitchen amenities, towels, the pretty art…) were outstanding. A few small functional improvements could make the whole experience even better.

Great views and everything you need

Had a great time at this property. There were several amenities like beach towels and umbrellas ready to go. Appliances worked well like AC and laundry. It was very nice to eat breakfast on the patio and to get ocean views. There were some issues with fire ants continually coming in, which wasn't really their fault and was dealt with eventually, but wished it had been dealt with more quickly as it took a few days to resolve and toward the end of our stay. They were fairly responsive and always polite though throughout our communications. Would definitely recommend to others!
