First class service
The Saxon is a beautiful property but it was the service which set it apart. Switched on intelligent staff who were really focused on ensuring guests got what they wanted from their stay.

What a beautiful property! Even though it rained the first two days The Saxon was magical! Everywhere you look is a feast for the eye…and the cuisine was an amazing feast as well!

Decline of Saxon Hotel
breakfast service was VERY poor. Orange juice was not fresh - asked for ginger to be added. Did not happen. Cappuccino was cold. Eggs Benedict took 50 minutes to arrive, was cold and not on ciabatta as requested. Waitresses had no idea how to set the table and remove plates before they bring the next course. a real bad experience. was not like this a few years ago.

Bel hôtel pour visiter Joburg
Bel hôtel qui se trouve dans un quartier résidentiel très chic. La chambre est très spacieuse et confortable avec plusieurs rangements, commodités… Le service est impeccable. La restauration est de très grande qualité. Nous sommes passés par l’hôtel pour l’organisation des visites, réservations… tout s’est très bien passé. Service personnalisé. Seul inconvénient: la chambre est sombre à cause de la végétation et il fallait allumer la lumière la journée.

Excellent premise and location. We stayed in a villa, but Qunu restaurant service sub par and overpriced. Had to ask 3x just to get a bottle of wine and waiters kept forgetting our orders

SUPERB EXPERIENCE!
We asked to be picked up at the airport and they were waiting for us when we arrived! The ride and the chauffeur were perfect. We were greated by the manager at our arrival who introduced is to our concierge Lyndsey and she attended to all our needs perfectly. We asked for late checkout the next day since our flight was at 8:00 PM and they let us have the room till 3:00 PM graciously! The room was exceptional, the service and facilities superb. We were there on our last trip to JNB and we will be back on our next one!

amazing evening!
Absolutely superb. We were unfortunately only here one night but I would return to Johannesburg just to stay here again. One of my favorite hotels ever. Rooms were above and beyond, dinner at Qunu was fabulous and breakfast served in room was delightful as well. The property and staff unparalleled.
I will dream about this mushroom appetizer.

When we have to stay in J'Berg this is the ONLY hotel to stay at. Everything about The Saxon is exceptional from the service right down to the bedding. 1 night is never enough!

South African luxury
This was easily the best place I've stayed all year! The service was top-notch: staff were personable and always a step ahead. There are less than 60 rooms here and you really feel the intimate nature of the service as a result. The facility itself...amazing. The villas are connected by an elevated walkway, and I can't recommend the spa enough! The breakfast buffet each morning was also impressive.

UNFORGETTABLE - MODERN - PICTURESQUE
I’ve stayed in many hotels, NONE of them come close to this hotels Hospitality. The Hotel really gives you the sensation of being at Home... Away from home. The staff are friendly, Food is superb and service is great. This is my new favorite boutique hotel in the world.

One of the most beautiful hotels I’ve been to. The service is amazing, the rooms are very spacious, the food in all 3 restaurants is spectacular. The spa and their treatments are great. Its my second time and wouldn’t doubt for a second in coming back.

Estadia de altíssimo padrão.
Nossa estadia foi excelente. Hotel muito luxuoso. Quarto e banheiro maravilhosos! Melhor banho que já tive em um hotel. Tanto pela ducha quanto pela qualidade dos produtos. O hotel tem 3 restaurantes mas só tivemos oportunidade de jantar em um deles o Kunu. Comida excelente e atendimento super cordial. Café da manhã muito bom também.

World Class Elegance
This is an amazing property that is part of the Leading Hotels group. The rooms are spacious and thoughtfully furnished, the restaurants are superb, and the service was perfect. It is a peaceful oasis in the middle of this massive city. Highly recommend.

While expensive by most standards, it’s good value for money at that price point. Lots of little extras and very good personal attention. Also give the Grei Restaurant a try. We found it outstanding.

A truly 5 Star boutique hotel. The staff are very courteous and well trained in their roles. From the minute you arrive you realize that your stay is going to exceed all your expectations. The decor is tasteful and the hotel has a lot to offer and all of it is top class. We stayed in the villa suites and they were beautiful, although I am sure the same is true for any of the rooms in this hotel. It was our anniversary and we came to the room after dinner to find it covered in rose petals and tea lights. It’s the extra attention that separates this hotel from many of its 5 Star contemporaries. All in all, I couldn’t fault anything and I thoroughly enjoyed the opulence that surrounded us. I couldn’t recommend the Saxon enough to anyone who enjoys the finer things in life.

An oasis.
The staff was incredibly accommodating. The property is spectacular. Located in one of the best neighborhoods in the region. We would definitely stay again if in the area.
