Smelled like sewage and other odours. Place is seriously run down, not what I expected from the Nova brand. Worst hotel I have stayed at in many years

A great location and great services. The rooms is clean. We enjoyed our 2 nights' stay.

We stayed here for two nights in July 2023. The staff was pleasant but the air conditioning wasn’t working so the room was extremely hot and humid. As well there was no hot water, so no hot showers. The TV also did not work. Was advertised that a free breakfast was included, but no breakfast was available.

No hot water for 2 days, air conditioners not working and tv not working. Would not recommend the stay unless improvements happen. Staff was courteous and helpful as possible.

The HVAC is broken for at least 2 weeks as we stayed there before and after our rafting trip. Maintenance is very far behind. Bathtubs don't have stoppers. Bed was poorly made and pillow sheet dirty. I would not stay there again. RB

The front desk staff are stars. I’m very impressed with their level of dedication to provide the best customer service they could with all the limitations being in a remote area and an old building with all kinds of challenges.

The staff, especially Hope, make Nova Inn a great alternative when staying in Inuvik. Even when facility issues are beyond their control, they keep smiling and offering friendly guest services.

Location is close to highway but no other amenities close by. Asked about a gas station and didn’t get a answer or any help like an address. At 9:30 pm there wasn’t any place to get food in the town as far as I could find. Overpriced but then it is in Inuvik!

Give them a try
I think people just have to give this place a chance. It has plenty of potential, rooms are big, hallways are wide, it’s pretty clean. I think when you are in Inuvik, you have to adjust your expectations. Staff are super friendly and trying their best with limited resources. It’s really not a bad place to take a snooze.

Not bad but no breakfast or laundry
There was supposed to be a free breakfast included but the hotel didn't have an active food handling permit so there was no breakfast... unfortunately we were informed about that until we tried to get breakfast in the morning. The wifi in our room was weak to the point of not being usable so we went to the lobby (wifi was good there). Shower had good pressure and hot water. The town is small, which is a good thing because the hotel seems to be located almost at the edge of town (there are other hotels more centrally located). There were supposed to be laundry facilities onsite but there was only one functioning washer and dryer and they were for staff use. The staff were friendly.

Website indicates free breakfast but this was not supplied. One loose open teabag in room, when I asked for more they did not have any. Website says wheelchair accessible, but only if you lift the wheel chair up 6 stairs to the elevator. Two microwaves in common kitchen area did not work. Morning of checkout the elevators did not work and I had to ask…only then did staff reset a breaker.

We are in the process of getting a permit to serve breakfasts again.I apologize for not taking the time to show how to work the microwaves or offering the other flavor of tea we have available. Our elevator doesn't have an indicator when it needs to be reset, unfortunately the front desk staff or myself aren't always aware that it needs to be reset.

It’s too bad that the staff don’t pick up the garbage and butts outside the entrance while they’re out smoking. The lobby, former breakfast area and stairwells are rapidly becoming a mess. The rooms aren’t too bad yet, but will decline under the current management.

I asked for a late check out and the front desk person looked at me like he was doing me a favor by saying is 11 am ok. I than stated that it is standard check out time at 11 am. He claimed it was 10 am, I would remove this from expedia as they are damaging your reputation

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We do offer 11am checkout as a standard and late checkout as available, particularly when guests have later flights. It's always subject to availability but he should have been able to let you know that. Our apologies.

Good stay
The staff are friendly and considerate. If you arrive early they will let you come in early and leave late if your plane is late; of course this is when they have a lot of rooms available, which is understandable .

nice stay
On the whole my stay was nice. It was noisy the first night but the other nights, 2, were pretty good. The staff were kind and helpful.

Tried to give us a smoking room, when I went to open the window the screen had been pushed out and I could see it on the ground below. Went to the front desk to ask for a new room because of the smoke and lack of screen and they basically laughed in our face. Luckily I contacted expedia and they forced the hotel to change us to a non smoking room. No apologizes from management at the hotel though. Terrible customer service.
