Wildland Retreat is the intimate companion to our signature Wildland Wellness Sanctuary, offering the same peaceful creekside setting in a thoughtfully curated retreat for couples, solo travelers, and small groups. Stargaze by the fire in our Fairy Glen, luxuriate in the King Wellness Suite, soak in the hot tub beneath towering pines, and reconnect with nature beside historic Strawberry Creek.



The Space:

Welcome to Wildland Retreat—an intimate version of our signature Wildland Wellness Sanctuary. The Retreat occupies the private lower level of the home. The upper level is a separate private residence with its own entrance and is occasionally occupied by the owner and her friendly dog and cat during guest stays. There are no shared guest spaces, and Retreat guests enjoy exclusive use of the hot tub, and all outdoor amenities included with the listing.



To help preserve the peaceful atmosphere of Wildland Sanctuary for everyone on the property, guests traveling with dogs should ensure their pets are comfortable around the scent and occasional sounds of other animals. If your dog is highly reactive to cats or other pets, this retreat may not be the best fit. It should also be noted this space is not suitable for children under 12.

Enhance your stay by adding access to our private Wellness Yurt for a one-time fee of $100 per stay. This peaceful space is ideal for nature-immersion napping, meditation, massage, quiet reflection, or simply relaxing in a beautiful and restorative setting. Featuring a Queen Bed, Heat/AC, and a Kitchenette, the Wellness Yurt can also serve as a 2nd sleeping space.



The Wellness Yurt is an optional add-on and is not included in the nightly price.

* The upper level of the home is occasionally owner occupied, but there are no shared spaces - indoor or outdoor. You have exclusive use of all advertised rooms and outdoor recreation areas described in the listing.

Guests have access to all advertised bedrooms, living spaces, bathrooms, and amenities. Two interior rooms & select cabinets are reserved for owner storage and remain locked during guest stays. These areas are not part of the rental, are not advertised in any photos or descriptions, and do not impact guest access or enjoyment of the property.



The Neighborhood:

Located on Strawberry Creek, this land offers the soothing sounds and flora only a seasonal creek can provide. Colorful foliage and apple trees ripe for the picking can be enjoyed in the fall. Come springtime, enjoy frogs croaking and the sweet scent of lilacs in the air as they bloom. Walking distance to town (20 minutes), and a short 10 minute walk to popular coffee shop Alpaca Coffee & Tea, as well as brunch & dinner spot Mile High Cafe. 2 minute drive to Idyllwild Arts Academy.



Getting Around:

You will need a car to properly enjoy Idyllwild, though you won't need it all the time. Hiking trails, restaurants, and the town square are all accessible within a 20 minute walking distance. Everything in Idyllwild is accessible within 5-10 minutes by car. 2 parking spots available for the guest space - please park where indicated to keep space clear for UPS deliveries, thank you!



Other Things to Note:

🌲 Respect Our Neighboring Land

Please do not cross beyond the line of solar lights, which mark the property boundary. Crossing onto neighboring land may disturb our neighbors — thank you for helping us preserve peaceful relationships in this special place.



⏰ Check-Out Time: 11:00 AM (Firm)

We have a scheduled cleaning team and are unable to accommodate late check-outs. A $50 per hour fee will apply for departures after 11:00 AM to cover rescheduling costs.



👥 Approved Guests Only

All guests must be included in your reservation request and approved prior to arrival. No unapproved visitors or overnight guests are permitted.



🐾 Dog-Friendly (Up to 2 Dogs | $100 Fee)

We welcome well-behaved, potty-trained dogs.



Please note:

• Dogs must be friendly and well-socialized

• Dogs must be on leash outdoors at all times

• Dogs may not be left unattended at the property

• Guests are responsible for any pet-related damage or accidents

• Please include your pet in your reservation so the pet fee is applied correctly



🌿 Smoking Policy

THC / 420 is permitted outdoors only, away from shared spaces, and must be extinguished safely due to wildfire risk.

No indoor smoking of any kind, including tobacco or cannabis. Additional cleaning fees will apply for smoke odors indoors.



🔥 Fire Safety

Our mountain community is highly fire-sensitive. Please fully extinguish all smoking materials and use fire features responsibly.



🎵 Quiet Enjoyment Only

No parties.

No loud outdoor music.

Please help us maintain the peaceful atmosphere our guests and neighbors cherish.



🧼 Care for the Space

Please wash dishes before departure and treat the home with care. If something is stained, broken, or damaged, simply let us know — honest communication is always appreciated.



🚗 Parking

Ample parking for up to 4 vehicles.



❄️ Weather / Power Outages

Mountain weather, snow, and occasional power shutoffs can occur without warning. If roads remain open, reservations remain non-refundable under our cancellation policy. Emergency lanterns and alternative heat sources are provided during outages.



🗝️ Owner Storage Areas

By booking, guests acknowledge that two designated owner-storage rooms & select storage cabinets remain locked and are not included in the rental. All advertised guest spaces remain fully accessible.
