"We had an amazing stay. Bob and Liz were lovely and friendly hosts, provided a really nice breakfast and a nice, tasteful welcome package in the fridge. The authentic cottage was a lovely and peaceful place to stay, well renovated and well accomodated. As is the case in most cottages, some of the beams and ceilings are quite low, so watch your head. The walks on the grounds between the bluebells are an absolute must in spring. In the nearby area the places to visit are Plaw Hatch Farm, Bluebell...

"We stayed at Deer Hut on 26th August for our anniversary. Unfortunately, the stay was not as comfortable as we expected. When we opened the door, there were lots of flies around the lights, and the back window was open when we arrived. There was also a spider in the bathroom, which made my wife very scared and uncomfortable. Because of these issues, we couldn’t relax properly and didn’t sleep well that night. "A luxury cottage in a beautiful setting. Tastefully furnished with a pretty garden. Unfortunately the countryside setting wasn’t that peaceful as sporadically two very loud men were working on restoring some vintage double decker buses in the adjoining barn - language and diesel fumes not so welcome."

"If you love a peaceful country retreat then this is for you. Wildlife all around. The owner could not be more helpful. Peacocks at the back door herds of dear and flocks of amazing rheas much better than advertised. You do need a car with good clearance for the track through the forest but it's worth it as it all ads to the amazing adventure. "My family of 4 (including kids aged 5 and 8) had an incredible time at the Cottage over the course of 4 nights. The entire property is gorgeous and the hosts were so warm and welcoming throughout our stay. Our stay coincided with a period of warm weather so we got to enjoy beautiful summer evenings strolling about on a countryside estate watching foxes play on the adjacent field. "My husband and I enjoyed a week in Mill Barn in early June. Unfortunately the weather didn't want to play along so we couldn't enjoy the beautiful garden as much as I had hoped, but that was no loss - the cottage is adorable inside too and it's perfect for cozy cocooning when it's rainy. We enjoyed the smart TV, bath and wonderful shower, as well as the well equipped kitchen. There are plenty of fun day trips in the area and Penny was incredibly kind and helpful during our stay.
