Between the deck overlooking the sound and the walk across the street to the ocean you couldn't be any closer to the variety of water options the Outer Banks has to offer. Property owners alerted us to some possible flooding since we were there during tropical storm Ophelia, which did happen but was not a problem as we followed their directions for where to park.
