"The accommodations were outstanding. Exactly what I wanted. It felt very traditional while also having modern amenities. Loved the traditional clothing they gave us, the private onsen we had, and the kaiseki meals. If you want a cultural experience but with modern comforts, this is the place!"

"Host was extremely hospitable, thoughtful, and friendly. We came around 10 at night after getting lost due to some map reading error and he was helpful in getting our luggage upstairs. Very friendly guy with good sense of humour. Comfortable, clean, and warm abode. We plan on staying here next time we come, god willing."

The buffet for both dinner and breakfast was very nice with broad options, and a lot of different options for drinks. Lastly the staff was so nice and helpfull. "Beautiful Mt Fuji views from our suite. The most incredible and responsive service from the front office staff who provided efficient and timely transportation by shuttle to nearby bus/transportation stops as well as to dinner and even the conbini one night when the only restaurant that was open (Jan 1) was full. It is definitely a food desert in that area, but we made do just fine. We enjoyed the shared onsen which was not busy at all. "

"The villa is great. We loved everything about the unit. It was spacious and clean, had lots of amenities, and the private onsen was great. The layout for us (6 people) was awesome. The unit had multiple toilets and places to get ready. The fully equipped kitchen was very much welcomed. While we did not cook, and only heated up store-bought food and cup noodles, there are pots and pans and even an outdoor grill if you want to cook. There is even a vending machine that has limited food options...

"The hot spring was nice and clean and you get a private time slot, which is very nice. The rooms are cozy and have a balcony, Netflix etc. the staff is friendly and helpful. All in all a very nice experience. "

"A stay on the cheaper side of the usual Hakone pricing. Very big room. The public bath was not well maintained, and therefore not enjoyable to use. Location is not ideal but not a big issue if you have a car available."

"Beautiful room, wonderful onsen, a bit hard to get to by transit but doable if you don’t have too much luggage. Weather prevented view of Mt Fuji but the rolling fog was mystical. Giant spider in room."

"This hotel is so full of mold that I got sick and had to leave after one night. I recommend that the facility is shut down pending major renovation. The staff were kind and treated me well, I think that it is a management level issue. The carpet in my entrance was soaking wet at all times and both bathrooms in my room smelled heavily of mold. I gave it a chance, but after sleeping I went down to breakfast and realized how severe my mold allergic reaction symptoms were so I went back to my room...
