We had some travel delays and then extended our trip and he has been so flexible with everything and even gave us a ride to the train station! "An exceptional stay from start to finish. Gracious hospitality, a true time capsule with updates in all the right places. The japanese breakfast every day was truly memorable, and the coffee shop on the property was beautiful as well. I could not recommend more, 10/10 stay, worth the price! "This was my second stay in one year and I chose it because of its proximity to The Philosophers Walk as well as being located in a residential community, though quite close to a major temple as well as quieter and lovely ones. There are only 4 rooms; this is a typical lodging house - shared bath and kitchen. Proprietor Nakamoto is very helpful !!!"

The room on the 9th floor was very big, and the bed was extremely comfortable.
There is complementary tea and coffee in the reception area, which is nice in the morning.
The location of the hotel is great, and despite it being in the centre of everything, the room was very quiet.
We would definitely come back here next time we are in Kyoto."
