"As frequent vrbo customers, our experiences generally meet or exceed expectations. Not so here.
Our positive rating reflects the convenient location, but the apartment itself was disappointing. This is a converted attic, not a penthouse. The description promises a lift, but it doesn't make clear that after you open the apartment door you are confronted with a steep staircase up to the apartment--not easy for seniors with luggage.

"Upon arrival, it was immediately clear that the property was not as advertised. For the premium price paid, the experience was extremely disappointing.
The apartment had a strong, unpleasant odor from the moment we entered, which posed a health risk for my mother who has asthma. Despite reporting this to VRBO, the concern was dismissed.

"It is hard to beat the location of The Leonard. Sitting on the edge of Marylebone and Mayfair, it's easy to get anywhere. The hop on hop off buses have a large stop two blocks away. The staff was friendly, and the room was clean. It was a great home base for our London adventure. I would definitely stay there again."
