"The lady at the front desk was very nice & helpful when we checked in. The hair dryer did not work, & the lady that was behind the front desk in the morning was too busy to help us with getting a new hair dryer. The shower valve was hard to operate & almost falling off. Also, the a/c unit was so noisy that we were not able to use it!! We will not stay at this hotel ever again!! On a good note, the musician in the restaurant was very good & enjoyable!"

"The room was great. I tried to watch TV but there were no instruments on how to work the tv so I finally gave up. The room was comfortable but I could definitely hear the traffic."

"Despite the cost and promise of WiFi and continental breakfast we were left with spotty slow WiFi at best and the breakfast was a selection of sugar filled cereal products, not actually a continental breakfast. The pool was closed, and looked like it had been for a while."

"This property is nice and clean with all the essentials. We appreciate the pet friendly aspect as we travel with our dog. We have been there now for two years in a row to attend my family reunion nearby and it has suited our needs perfectly. It is a nice quiet place to rest. Thank you."

"Comfort Inns seem to be freeway close...like, our room's window looked out at the onramp to I-82! We've seen that in other locations, too. Still, the room/window were well-insulated. Breakfast was fine. We left our jackets in the closet, but the motel mailed them back to us!!!"

"Isoleret set et fint hotel til prisen, rigtig fin standard og meget imødekommende service. Placeringen af hotellet, i et delvist industriområde kunne være bedre. Selve byen The Dalles har ikke meget at byde på, så kan anbefale til en enkelt overnatning, ikke et længere ophold."

"Great hotel in the heart of The Dalles. Close to shopping and restaurants. Walkable."

"The Balch Hotel is a really nice place. The staff is very friendly, helpful, and accommodating. They even found some stamps to enable me to mail hotel postcards from Dufur despite the Post office being closed. I also appreciated the period charm and decor. The structure and furnishings are in a good state of repair yet still maintain an authentic period look. I would definitely stay again in the future."

"It was nice"
