"Before we arrived we had repeatedly contacted the hotel in order to have rooms with connecting doors but they never responded. Upon arrival we were assigned to rooms on two separate floors and told nothing could be done about that. They told us the hotel was fully booked but it clearly wasn’t. One room smelled like someone had smoked there. The other room was just as old and outdated. The curtain and other things were broken. There was no aircon so we had to sleep with open windows and listen to the traffic noise all night. The people working there were not very friendly and service minded. The breakfast horrible and the showers for the full so hot the kids couldn’t shower. Maybe it was great 30 years ago but since then seemingly absolutely nothing has been done to keep it up to date. "

"The service and the food in the gathering restaurant was poor. We had to wait an hour on our food for dinner and for breakfast we never received the full order. We couldn’t book in the restaurant or have breakfast there as they didn’t have a table that fitted all six of us. The view, rooms and the lounge are was fine. We found that the food experience didn’t match the overall price and put a downer on the overall experience."
