"Great spot on River. Nice hole in front of house for swimming and fishing. Caught several small mouth bass. Very private, really enjoyed seating on porch and around fire pit listening to river. Seen bald eagle on our last morning. Would for sure go there again. Host was great, communication was great and had no problems during our stay. "

"Beautiful Mountain Views! Photos in listing are accurate. Make sure to notice that the ceilings do not go all the way up to the ceiling, so the sounds of the night in other rooms are more like being in 1 large room. The listing suggests 4WD or AWD to upper parking level. I would actually recommend it for the lower parking level as well. We have a Toyota Highlander with good tires and still spun in the rocks and had to back down and put in low gear and gun it to get to the lower level. Don't...

"Dog friendly, fenced yard. Nature lovers paradise. Darling property a stone’s throw from downtown Blacksburg and VT. No a/c meant windows open and the neighborhood noise was significant. Made it a bit hard to sleep. No TV. Parrots/fish on property / parrots are also loud. Owner warned us and offered to take them but I wasn’t clear about the situation, so I didn’t ask them to take them. My fault. 3 bedroom with interesting decor. "

"Amazing location, with walking access to the river. The house is close enough to campus that you can easily get an uber to a game. This place was pet-friendly and had the cutest kitchen. All around great experience. "

"Staying at the Tranquil Retreat has been so much nicer than staying at a hotel. Plenty of space for 3 adults and we really appreciated the upgraded amenities, including the wonderfully comfortable beds. Great, well stocked kitchen, very easy to prepare a meal and nice to have a washer and dryer. This is our second stay here to visit our daughter, and we will certainly be back."

"I visited in the fall with some college friends for a game weekend, and had an incredible stay! The house is beautiful and in a great location, walking distance to campus and downtown. The host was extremely helpful and communicative. I would definitely recommend to anyone visiting Blacksburg for a weekend!"
