We are sorry that the Petite Kroeg Room did not live up to your expectations. It is much smaller than any of our other rooms, but has the same quality bed, linens and antiques. We have never been told our house smells musty before and I am unsure why you would not have opened a very large window in that room to let in some fresh air. I honestly don’t know what to say about the breakfast as we have never had anyone review our formal English breakfast in the manner you did but again we are sorry that your stay was not to your satisfaction.

This review is so unfair that I have taken a few days to respond.When a guest leaves the window in their bedroom wide open it is highly likely insects and in this case a bat can enter. How you managed to open the un-screened window that was screwed shut with an air conditioner installed still has us perplexed. This was never a laughing matter and we apologize on behalf of the guest who laugh at your complaint. We are terribly sorry you experienced a bat swooping around your room. Had you contacted us 4am and not waited until 9am the next morning, We would have gladly taken care of this immediately. This was an all round unfortunate situation that had we been given the chance to address, would have been dealt with swiftly. We did repair the window and located the bat and he was let go without any harm.

Thanks for the suggestion. We do have floor fans and window air conditioning in our Victorian mansion. We are hesitant to remove our original crystal chandeliers to replace with a ceiling fan. It would definitely effect the ambiance. But point taken. Thanks for staying with us. We appriciate your suggestion
