Friendly staff, good location right on the beach, a bit isolated. Rooms are outdated and a bit run down. Shower in bathtub. No minibar in a four star hotel? Windows in rooms on top floor extremely small.

Familie oplevelse i topklasse!
Fantastisk oplevelse! Medarbejderne var især utrolige! Maden var rigtig god og faciliteterne var super! God plads til børnefamilier!

Relaxing with a touch of luxury
Even though not lying in the Galway center, but in an adjoining town Salthill, the location was perfect. Front row to the ocean, and the promenade. The room was spacious, but the double bed was quite narrow for 2 adults. The third single bed that we had for our kid was more comfy and broad that the half of our double bed. Breakfast was delicious with rich Irish and continental options. Evenings at the hotel weren't boring either, as there were both a cosy pub, and a restaurant serving great food.

The best thing about Galway Bay Hotel is the staff. Absolutely the best hotel staff we had on our trip around Ireland - friendly, professional, and genuine. Although they are right beside an amusement park, the windows are excellent and almost no noise came in. Very comfortable and very walkable into Galway.

Set right on the bay and not far from all the action on Quay st- this hotel is just marvelous. The location is awesome, staff go out of their way to make you feel welcome and the breakfast was delicious. Would stay here again for sure.

May be a little far for people to walk to town but we loved being by the water. Beautiful views. You could easily Uber to town also. We would stay again.

This property had very easy parking and very helpful staff. If you visit for more than a couple days, they offered activities like yoga, painting, etc..

Well sited property. My only complaint is that my room had a strange odor and not deeply clean. All staff were delightful and hardworking and my kids' room was fine.

Lovely hotel in a great location
Lovely hotel to visit, right on the coast. Positives - beds are very comfy and rooms are quiet. Live music was very good. Underground car available too. Staff are friendly and helpful. Dinner was good. Hotel is 12mins drive from Galway center. Negatives - breakfast slots need to be booked in advance, the food is mediocre & not replenished quickly. Pool is small. Parking spaces are tight.

Nice hotel with average food
Very nice hotel in a lovely location. Breakfast isn't top quality - scramble eggs aren't scrambled, the mushrooms are floating in water, nothing is replaced like the bread, salmon, cheese, sauces, etc., and for some reason you need to book a slot (we're not in Covid times anymore!). People stay in a hotel for the convenience of waking up random and eating breakfast at their leisure. It's not great being told the only slots available are 15mins or 2 hours before it closes. The dining room is massive (and was not full) so use it properly. Parking spaces are tiny but so is everywhere else in Galway! Room was comfortable but wasn't cleaned on 1 day, for an unknown reason. With check-in starting at 4pm, it wasn't like the cleaners were not around and the clean my room sign was on the door. Fortunately, the staff are nice and the bar had live music on which was good. Dinner was fine but it didn't make me want to return the second night. Reception looks nice and the hotel is spacious.

We have recently completed the first phase of the refurbishment of some of our guest bedrooms and bathrooms as well as renovating our Pier 56 Café. The results have been very well received by our guests who have stayed in these rooms. Unfortunately, the room in which you stayed was not one of these rooms. We have more refurbishments planned for the coming year. This work will be gorgeous, and it will focus on more of our guest bedrooms as well as our Bay Brasserie dining room. Check in took a long time Restaurant service was very slow and seemed under staffed We dropped our bags off early and it took over an hour for the porter to bring them up Staff was nice and polite, but seemed inexperienced and overwhelmed

We greatly enjoyed our stay. Breakfast was good and included, nice pool, and clean and comfortable rooms. The one area to be improved was that there was only one hook in the bathroom. It's difficult to reuse towels with no space to let them dry.
