Description described the propery to a T. While it would be a 15 minute or so walk to Main Street, we did drive as there was no way our old lady bones could have walked those hills especially with all our shopping bags.. There is a weird noise in the house.when it started raining. Kinda sounds like a weed wacker constantly going.

Perfect location!
The home was so cozy, we didn't want to leave! Looking forward to returning in slightly warmer weather so we can enjoy the welcoming firepit. Saw deer every day! Walking distance to town but feels like you're in the country. Dont miss Bread & Vine for breakfast, lunch, cocktails ... you name it!

Great location, impeccably clean
This is a great place to stay if you’re looking to spend time in downtown Galena. It was a short walk up the hill after a day of shopping. The home was just as described. It was roomy and the beds were very comfortable. Great for 2 couples who want a little space of their own as each bedroom had a sitting area. We would definitely stay here again.

Cozy and cute
I booked this house last minute specifically so I could bring my dog. This place is so cute and very pet friendly. My dog appreciated the little couches just for her. The check in and out process and expectations were very reasonable. I would absolutely stay here again.

Our Usual Home Away from Home
This is our usual home away from home when staying in Galena. We drove around the Galena Territories this time to see what would be available there, but the Territories are just too far away from everything for our taste. Harrison is a perfect location so we can walk downtown. We stay at this location with our French Bulldogs, who now consider it a second home. It was too hot to sit by the firepit when we were there this time, but we enjoyed being able to grill out on the gas grill and enjoy listening to the cicadas at night. It was absolute peace? This house has many stairs, so it is not a good choice for people with mobility issues, but we love that aspect. The loft bedroom has a king size bed with one of the most comfortable mattresses in the world. There is a second bedroom and bathroom in the lower level with another deck that is ideal if you wish to travel with another couple. The kitchen is not huge, but it is very well stocked and accessible. We seldom even need to leave for a restaurant while in the area. The best part is the beautiful sunrises you will see over the town and hills if you are willing to rise early enough. This makes the location ideal.

We loved how close this property was to downtown. Although it is not an easy walk, we did it multiple times during our stay. It was great exercise. :) The communication was excellent and the house was very clean. We also enjoyed using the fire pit. Expectations were very clear.

The proximity to Main Street was a huge plus, making it easy for us to explore the charming town and its attractions with just a short walk. The highlight of our evenings was gathering around the new outdoor fire pit, roasting marshmallows, and sharing stories. It added a delightful touch to our vacation, creating lasting memories for both us and Gizmo. Furthermore, the private setting of the house allowed us to relax and unwind without any disturbances. It truly felt like an oasis of tranquility. The entire booking process was seamless, and the property management team was incredibly accommodating and friendly, ensuring we had everything we needed for a memorable stay. In conclusion, we cannot recommend this rental house enough. If you’re looking for a well-maintained, spacious, and dog-friendly place close to Galena’s Main Street, this is the perfect choice. We had an amazing three-night, four-day vacation, and we’ll definitely be coming back for more adventure

Girl's getaway
My high school friends (of over 40 years) have been taking weekend getaways for the past several years. This year we chose Galena and had an amazing time. The property was just perfect for us. Everything was so charming and very comfortable. It was very close to downtown, as long as you don't mind taking the path down the hill. If that is a problem, we easily found parking on the road behind the house, down the hill. We will definitely return to Galena and most certainly would stay in this property again. We loved it.

Gorgeous comfortable home, walking distance to downtown (it’s a few steep stairs, but will save you the headache of parking downtown). I wish they had a better description of how to get “down the hill”… we found the stairs on our last day.

Wonderful home - very short drive to downtown Galena
We absolutely loved this dog friendly home. Home was lovely - very comfortable furniture and so well-equipped. Check in was super easy. Privacy was amazing for friends or couples sharing the rental! Both bedrooms involve quite a few stairs so if you have any physical issues or an elderly dog, just an FYI. Also, the beautiful property is very hilly so for driving and walking, be forewarned. This would not be an easy walk into downtown Galena but a super short easy drive. So peaceful and beautiful. We loved it.

Beautiful house with great view
We really enjoyed our stay at this house. The house is lovely and we thought the loft bedroom was awesome. And we also loved the natural light in the day, although the indoor lighting could be added to, it's very dark at night. We made use of a path and concrete stairway that led us to downtown from the top of the hill. I was a bit nervous about the driveway, certainly would not want to drive it in the ice or snow. We would love to come back and visit again!

Quick Weekend Getaway
Spent the weekend celebrating our anniversary and really enjoyed our stay. House is located adjacent to downtown Galena, but yet secluded enough to make you feel like your in the mountains. Unique interior layout with plenty of room. Sorry we didn't get a chance to use the interior fireplace or outdoor firepit. Plenty of wood was provided to enjoy either.

Third Time is a Charm!
We stayed at this property with our dogs on November 12th when we returned for my class reunion. This is our third time on the property and we love it more and more each time. It has become our home away from home. It was too cold for the front porch and firepit, but we enjoyed the wood fireplace with a surplus of wood to remain cozy. The leaves fell off the trees in the back so you can now see downtown and a beautiful sunrise in the morning. The walk down the stairs to downtown is still very convenient. Very clean and well maintained. Very pet friendly. Our dogs know where they are each time and enjoy their walks in the area.

Peaceful Retreat
This home is truly minutes from Main Street Galena but when you are at the property you feel “miles away”. Walking into this home the first thing that will impress is how clean and comfortable it is. Kitchen has everything you need. The fire pit is great and everything you need to build a fire is provided. Surrounded by trees and a quiet neighborhood, this property is a real treasure.

Amazing first experience with VRBO
We usually stay in hotels on vacation, and this was our first VRBO experience. It couldn’t have gone better! The home was clean and uncluttered. It had everything we needed for our stay - including a new fire pit out front that we happily used to make s’mores! We had quick and easy access to downtown Galena. The neighbors were all friendly. I’d stay here again any time. Thank you!

Great place to stay in Galena. Five minute drive to downtown. The hills would have been a challenge for us so we did not walk to downtown. Daily visit from the deer right outside the door. Home was exceptionally clean. Would defiantly stay there again.
