Large new spa added March '25. Massive Redwoods surround you while you stay at this amazing retreat home in Mount Hermon. Kids will love the tree house bunk room with climbing wall and also the backyard trampoline. Relax in the back yard at the huge picnic table or on the adirondack chairs while enjoying the majestic giant trees.
Steps away from the adventure courses of Mount Hermon and many creek trails. Twenty minutes to the Boardwalk and 15 minutes to downtown Santa Cruz.

The home sleeps 10, but not 10 adults. Per the county rules: a maximum of 8 guests over age 8 are allowed. Children under age 8 are allowed in addition to those 8 guests.

This is a 4 bedroom home, but per county rules we can only list it as a 3 bedroom home. The 4th bedroom (bunk room) is listed as a living room in the photo tour. See the photos of the layout (in Additional Photos) for more info.

This home is great for groups with lots of kids, but it may not be a fit for groups with many adults. See more details below.

This is a two story home.

The Upper level has:

Bedroom 1: California King bed with memory foam mattress and Tempur-Pedic topper provides for a magical night's sleep. A comfy chair and a small TV are in the room. There is plenty of space in the closet for clothes and other items. The upstairs bathroom with tub/shower is right outside the bedroom door.

Bedroom 2: This bedroom is inspired by the Roaring Camp Railroad. Queen bed with memory foam mattress and Tempur-Pedic topper. Medium sized TV in the room. Standard closet and luggage racks. PLEASE NOTE: the bunk room access is through this room. So privacy is somewhat limited. The shelves in the room have board games for your group!

Bedroom 3: The Boardwalk room. Surrounded by sights of the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk, this room has queen bed with a luxury mattress. A large dresser and luggage racks available for your items. No closet in this room.

Bedroom 4 (listed as a Living Room): Discovery Grove bunk room. Saving the best for last! This room is themed to match the Mount Hermon adventures that surround us just outside the house. Two tree house themed bunk beds with a suspension bridge in between them. A rope ladder to access the upper bunk. Murals surround you with redwoods. The wall opposite the beds has a climbing wall! Four twin beds for the adventurous kids in your group. No closet space in this room.

If you're looking for an adventure-filled family vacation, there are few better places than the redwood forests surrounding this home. The towering trees, nearby rivers, and abundant wildlife provide endless opportunities for exploration and adventure with your children.

During the day, you could take your kids on hikes through the forest, exploring the winding trails that weave through the towering redwoods. Along the way, you might come across hidden streams, waterfalls, and wildlife.

If your children are feeling adventurous, you could also plan a day of rock climbing or zip lining through the forest canopy. These thrilling activities are a great way to get your heart pumping while experiencing the beauty of the redwood forest from a new perspective.

When it comes to family time at the house, you could spend evenings gathered around custom made redwood table on the deck enjoying a meal and telling stories. You could also play board games, puzzles, and other activities to keep everyone entertained during downtime. Alternatively, you could just sit and enjoy each other's company, soaking up the peace and tranquility of the forest.

At night, you could tuck your children into their cozy beds and let the quiet of the forest lull them to sleep. This house also features a hot tub, making it the perfect place to relax and let go of all your stress and worries. The hot tub is located off the back deck, where you can enjoy the forest while taking a soak. Please keep in mind that the hot tub closes at 10pm to respect our quiet neighborhood.

A family vacation in the redwood forest offers the perfect blend of adventure, nature, and quality family time. Your children will come away with memories that will last a lifetime, and you'll have the chance to bond and connect with them in a truly special setting.

There is plenty of space for three cars in our parking spots front of the home. The road to the home is very narrow, so drive carefully and be mindful of neighbors.

Our cohost lives just minutes away and is able to assist with anything you need. You will have access to the house and self check in, if you prefer to not interact in person. We are here to help with whatever you need!

While this home is set up for a medium to large group (up to 8 adults), this is not a party house. The home is located in the middle of a tightknit community and we ask that all guests be respectful of their surroundings.

Also, the access to the bunk room is THROUGH one of the queen bedrooms. So privacy is somewhat limited for guests sleeping in that queen bedroom.

This house is in the middle of a redwood forest. Redwood trees are notorious for constantly dropping branches, fronds and seedpods. As such, the deck and yard will likely have these materials strewn about even if the house was just cleaned. Also, because it is a forest, the terrain can be rough in the backyard and may not be suitable for children who are prone to injury. Please keep an eye on your children while outside.
