Last minute cancel

My adult children and husband had all taken off from work so we could spend a 4 day weekend together. We were very much looking forward to this. I was shocked to receive an email the day before, informing me this booking was canceled with no explanation to why. Giving me less than 24 hours to find a new location, I had paid in full and have a good rating with VRBO. This is absolutely unacceptable.

AC was problematic the entire weekend. Owners knew it in advance but were notified too late on holiday weekend so could not make other arrangements. House had lots of amenities but needed to declutter to make more appropriate for a rental. Worked with property management company for partial refund bc of air issues. Even with that we would not rebook or recommend property in the future.

Very Mislead

We booked this house primarily for the lake access. However upon arrival, the dock was completely beached with grass growing beneath it. We had our boat with us expecting to utilize the dock, so this was a major inconvenience. We understand that the water level is out of the tenants control, however we wish we were aware of this before arrival.

The photos on the websites are not updated, the room in the attic is completely different from the one in the photo, there are no closets, a TV under the bed, the coffee maker does not exist, the website does not say anything about it to the spring that crosses above the rocky road, I recommend traveling in high cars, mattresses with unpleasant stains, the cabin needs maintenance, thank you.

No heat, no air conditioning and no hot water!

We were very dissatisfied with our stay. There was no heat or air conditioning. In addition, the hot water did not work. We had an infant and a young toddler with us which made this difficult. Not to mention doing dishes. Also, my daughter found several cold pills on the floor in her room where her toddler was playing on the floor. We have reached out to both the rental agency and Vrbo and they have offered to compensate 6% of our total fees. We also read that the heat/AC did not work for another guests stay. This is absurd! We are very disappointed with VRBO

FAMILY STAY

THE COMPANY THAT OVERSEEN THE PROPERTY WAS OUTSTANDING IN RESPONCE AND ISSUUES WE HAD .BUT THE OWNER WAS OUT OF TAON AND WOULD NOT REAPOND TO THE COMPANY OVERSEEING THE PROPERTY FOPR HIM THE TRYED CONTACK OWNER SEVERTIMES FOR US WITH ISSUES FINALLY LAST DAY AROUND MIDNITE HE RESPONDED .HOUSE WAS VERY QUIET AND WOULD HAVE BEEN VERY PLEASANT IF NOT FOR SOME ISSUES .

Problems air conditioning

When we arrived the temperature was 77 downstairs and the thermostat upstairs was off and locked. I called and was told the owner said the loft would be cooled by the unit downstairs. We found this not to be true; the temperature in the loft got up to 84 in the afternoons therefore this area was unusable for sleeping. After multiple message I was informed twice that the owner would call me, but he never did. The termostat down stairs continued to reset to 75 each day while we were out on the lake. I do not recommend renting this cabin during the summer.

Beautiful Place, Needs Deeper Clean

My family and I stayed here for the Clemson game. The home is beautiful and exactly what we were looking for, but there are a few things that need to be addressed. My family arrived to the home and the code to enter was not working. Management gave us a different code but the handle was locked as well. A key was needed; after an hour, management was able to get my family into the home. Then there were cleaning issues. There was toothpaste residue in the sinks; tissues, bottles, cups, and cans in some bedrooms form previous guests. Crumbs were also left under the dining room table. As we were leaving we stripped the beds to find stained pillows and linens. Some rooms are fine, but others need to get new pillows and linens. Other than these things we had a great stay and was impressed by the home.

Hot and bothered

Place was more then we expected until a couple hours in with no A/C. Got there and the windows were open but never thought anything of it until it kept getting warmer n warmer. Cool outside so we opened the place back up because the A/C was blowing out at 79 degrees. Contact the owner and he knew they were open by some app he has or just plan spying on us, said the close all the doors and windows and it will cool off. Well we tried that will no avail. He supposedly called a company to come out, which I do not believe he did because the never showed the whole time we were there. We went out n bought fans to somewhat keep us cool. I called some local companies and 2 said they could come out in 2 hours 2 look but may not fix right away depending on parts so I know he was lying. So in the end they sided with the owner who claimed to have documentation showing the temperature was dropping in the house which he never stepped foot in the house. Sure a degree or 2 by us putting fans out. Pictures show several different occasions with pictures of a thermostat the the owner controls n has us locked out of. The upstair area which get the hottest was locked also n not working at all with a small a/c sitting on a table to use in the bedroom. VERY unpleasant. Extremely nice house except for the a/c problem and in the end offering a 20 percent discount. Owner stopped taking my calls

Weekend with friends

House is very cute. The dining table & coffee table are beautiful!!! There were 4 of us, but could easily accommodate 4-6 more. Mattresses could be replaced. Outdoor furniture needs cleaning. Living room tv stopped working. Overall we were pleased & enjoyed our stay.

Enjoyed our trip

The property was just like pictures showed. It was clean and comfortable. Had one small issue that resolved itself, but the property manager and the home owner both called and owner even came out to make sure everything was good. Very happy with our stay! Would visit again

Disappointed

Property was not very safe. Getting on and off of porch and dock was difficult. Missing smoke detectors. Old AC units in bedroom and closets. Leftover food on grill. Hornet infestation. Old scrape wood under porch. Tear in screen door. No lights going to dock. Road to house is hard to navigate in a car, there is a waterfall and creek that runs over the road. We rented the place because description said it was 1.4 miles from Tugaloo State Park, it was 14.5 miles from park. Underneath beds was dirty, there was an used insulin medical device under one bed.

Celebration of Life

We booked to attend my cousins celebration of life which was across the lake. It was nice to be that close! The house looked just like the pics on line. It’s a little hard to get down to the lake and back up. Make sure your in decent shape. The mattress on the master bed was not great, you sink into each other and it was very squeaky! There were huge carpenter ants all over the sink and bath area in the master bath. If bugs bother you, you would have RAN! We purchased RAID! The ants are not a reflection of the owners or management. Those type ants are as bad as termites and have nothing to do with cleanliness but with they live to eat wood!!

reviews are correct, read them carefully!

We had a great time and the communication with property manager was great. The cabin was well decorated with Christmas decor and lights. but I gave 3 stars overall because most of the things that were mention on the reviews as negative were not fix or corrected even we communicated with Andy a few weeks in advance. The place needs more maintenance. the worst thing is that the outdoor grill does not works properly. We could not grille a steak since the grille temp was to low. You will be good for a slow cook but don't think of having a nice sear on your steak. We had to cook our steaks on the stove since the grill was useless. The deck is cover with mold and it is very slippery. We had 3 slip and falls during our stay. It needs to be pressure washed. The fire place did not work and did not had gas. There was no wood logs for the outdoor fire pit. Just a pile of pieces of treated lumber that you should not burn due to the chemicals on them. The screens on the doors were broken/loose. The cook top on the range is crack and very dangerous during cleaning. The heater/ electric fireplace on the 2nd floor room was useless since it is operated with a control that was never found. The WiFi was useless. It only worked one time during our week stay. The second floor shower will not hold water and it will leak to the floor of the bathroom. We had to use the towels to hold the water. The KEURIG coffee machine does not work and the espresso machine is not working properly. It needs some cleaning. And the regular coffee machine did not had filters. We had to go out to the nearest town to get them. I will strongly suggest to bring your own if your are a coffee drinker. Found multiple cockroaches on the kitchen counter tops during cooking , unacceptable. 4 of the 6 chairs around the fire pit are broken or with loose boards. One of my kids got injured by this trying to sit on them.

Not a property for someone with mobility issues. Not recommended if pulling boat. Bring towels.

Inside clean & nice. Did not have enough towels & wash cloths. Air filters needed changing. Large ants in bathrooms. Listing said 4 cars. We had to back down inclined driveway in order to get 4 cars in & out. Requested early check in never received an email response. The rock steps entering the cabin need a hand rail & lighting. The steps down to the dock need another couple of steps. Quite an incline coming from dock. Would not recommend for someone with mobility issues. Gravel road entering. GPS had us entering crossing a creek on narrow one lane gravel road. Road in was overgrown with trees & grass, someone was bush hogging the day before we left.

Came all the way from California and was highly disappointed with this property. Very dirty upon arrival. Sheets and mattresses are dirty, old and heavily stained. Loft bedroom couldn’t be slept in because it was too filthy. We washed everything and made it work. Beautiful view of the lake but the dock needs some work. Very nice dining table, it was the perfect size for our group. Grill didn’t work and outdoor seating wasn’t able to be used. Fire pit wasn’t able to be used. Lots of work to be done. It was Christmas. We were disappointed but I was with family.

Had a great time...needs some updates.

Pros: Great location, nice home, on the lake, and easy to clean up. Cons: Grill will not get hot. We had to briucks worth of meat and cook inside. Needs lighting on the steps going to back yard. Dock is in very bad shape. That could definitely lead to a bad accident. Overall decent place. Have stayed in much better for the price. No cable TV, that sucked for guys wanting to enjoy sports. Outside needs some work and a lot of clutter picked up. Did not feel like much effort was put in for the guest.
