"What a special place! Close to everything but tucked away at the end of a private road. The view is beautiful and it’s a very private and peaceful setting. Our dogs loved it and we really appreciate the gates around the deck for them. And the addition of fall mums around the property was such a nice touch! Chris the host couldn’t have been nicer. Would absolutely stay here again!"

"We had a great time at the cabin. Beautiful location, nice kitchen, even a really good place for dogs. We had everything to be comfortable. At nights the sky was breathtaking. The only problem was the mattresses. They kept creaking. Backyard was amazing! We had a such a relaxing time."

"This quaint stay was everything we needed for our trip to MDI. Becka was a wonderful host (as was her angelic dog, Cayenne), and we loved the rustic setting. The rental was well and thoughtfully stocked. The outdoor shower was so enjoyable, serenaded by the nearby apiary. Even the early bird rooster made us laugh. Would happily stay again."

"Nice place. Beds were comfortable and clean. Quiet and quiet, no sounds of cars or people. Had everything we needed. Loved the outdoor eating area and fire pit.But be sure to bring supplies as it is a drive to a store. We stopped in Bangor on the way in. Glad we did. "

"We have stayed at the Hobby Horse several times and with each visit, it feels more like our "second home." The cottage is always clean, comfortable and has everything you need in the kitchen. The town of Surry provides a perfect base camp location to enjoy surroundings from Acadia National Park, Ellsworth, Blue Hill and Belfast. This year we attended the Blue Hill Fair and it did not disappoint. A few consistent highlights for us include: Perry's Lobster Company, Pugnuts, Fogtown Brewery...

"We had a great time in this off grid cabin. It was a beautiful location in a really lovely wood cottage. Our favorite part was just relaxing on the screened in porch listening to the loons in the evening. It got a little hot during our stay, so the limited electricity for a fan was a bummer but not a dealbreaker by any means. Would definitely recommend. "

"Our first time in Maine and picked a perfect place for our stay. The cabin has a real rustic feel with direct access to the pond. We had enjoyed canoeing, paddle boarding and fishing. It is a short drive to Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park. Also, only 15 minutes from the best cheesecake in Maine, MoMo's in Ellsworth.We cannot say enough about Vacasa customer service. They addressed our request promptly and professionally."

"This cabin was a lovely find! It’s tucked away behind a few trees, and yet right on the lake. There’s a beach a few steps away, and with kayaks and other water gear for use as well. It’s quite welcoming and easily accommodates a large group. The hosts are communicative and respond timely to questions. We love the area and would absolutely stay at the cabin again."
