Lovely property, but the room was much smaller than we had anticipated, particularly considering the rate. We found out in the morning that we could have called down for feather pillows (the ones in the room are impossible to sleep on), but I don't understand why they wouldn't just have them in the room as an option. The staff were fine, but exceptionally slow at the bar, and breakfast was okay, a buffet with hot options. However, we enjoyed sitting in the beautiful lobby having a drink and it was a beautifully maintained property, the grounds are especially lovely.

I recommend the Clontarf Castle Hotel. It exceeded my expectations. The lobby area is fascinating and the pub and restaurant areas are beautiful. The rooms are comfortable as are the baths. We would definitely stay again.

Clontarf Castle Hotel was our final stay during our over two weeks of Ireland and it met our goals: relaxation before return home in a hotel that was away from the Duble city hustle and bustle while being rather secluded, safe, and quiet. The highlight of our stay was the cleaning ladies, they were among the absolute nicest people we met in all of Dublin and were so sweet to our toddler son. Breakfast was nothing to write home about and actually disappointing given how nice the hotel was, at best 3/5 stars. Hotel was clean and really tried for the castle experience, albeit too much at times (little gaudy to be honest). Let downs were worn carpet, furniture in need of replacing, so so AC, lack of streaming services or casting on the TV, limited food options (of which several were just "ok" and not fitting to the location or price... Overall 3/5 at best), and lack of things to do or see on the properly. Clontarf Castle Hotel is quite secluded outside of the main city area which is what we went for, but a lack of grounds to walk about or enjoy outdoors was a huge letdown. For the price you're paying you'd expect something grand our out of the world beautiful like Lough Eske Castle (literally we paid the same on one day even less (<$100 USD difference) at Lough Eske!). IF I had a do over I would have gone to stay at Tha Green Hotel again to be closer to shopping, parks, and save hundreds of dollars feeling like I got more for my money. Alas it was a good stay, but not worth it.

Everything was above our expectations, even our request for different pillows. They were delivered to our door within minutes. We enjoyed the Fahrenheit Room breakfast choices and atmosphere. We will recommend the Clontarf Castle Hotel to our friends.

Lovely, impressive hotel in a quiet, beautiful area outside of Dublin city center. Easy walks, taxi service prompt and inexpensive. Knight’s Bar great midweek dining and lively atmosphere. Would stay here on any subsequent visit to Ireland.

The staff at the pub and hotel were friendly and helpful with recommendations and castle history. Room and especially the bed were quite comfy. Food at the pub was good. The grounds are lovely and the neighborhood made for some nice walks and an organized Saturday park run just down the road. Not cheap but a very nice stay with plenty of parking in the off-peak spring season.

Interior was amazing. Beds were super comfy. I would stay there again in a heart beat. Only issue is getting into the city area requires a 20 euro taxi unless you take the bus.

Loved staying in a hotel that was once actually a castle, beautifully appointed room with a window looking out on the older part of the building that we loved. The hotel is very well-designed, even with the modern entranceway, once you step inside it feels like a castle. The fireplaces were beautiful to sit and have a glass of wine, the high ceilings, the staircases, and our room itself with its comfortable bed were all fantastic. The modern, spotlessly clean bathroom was great, but they only provided one set of towels (one bath towel) for two people so we would have had to request a second towel. Not sure if that was just an oversight, but for such a nice hotel, it seemed odd. We had dinner in The Knights' Inn bar, and that was somewhat disappointing. The server took a long time to take our order and the food was brought out before the cocktails. My daughter ordered a salad which was bland and had to ask for dressing, as there was none provided. I ordered a vegetarian Thai curry which was not very tasty and not presented well. The soup was good, though, and we had ordered a goat cheese and mushrooms appetizer which was delicious. I guess my expectations for a "dinner in the castle" were too high, but I felt that the service and the food itself were sub-par and the menu did not have enough options. I believe there is a restaurant on-site which offers a fine dining experience but it was closed on the night we were there. The breakfast the next morning was very good though.

Beautiful castle with plenty of history and artwork to explore. Very helpful staff on the reception desk after we had an issue with the wi-fi, they were very responsive. Unfortunately the stay was let down by very poor service in the bar restaurant, it was painfully slow. There was also an unpleasant smell in the room, coming from the sink. The bed was very comfortable and the room a good size. Great transport links, very easy to get a bus into the city. Overall we enjoyed our stay.

Such a great end to our 16 day UK adventure! Beds were amazing! Employees were welcoming and warm! Food and drinks were delicious! Highly recommend this hotel/castle!!!
