I rarely write negative reviews, but I felt compelled to after my experience at this hotel.
We came into town for a funeral and booked two nights, specifically requesting a room with two beds. I even called ahead and was assured that this would be available. When we checked in, I didn’t double-check since it had already been confirmed on the phone — but when we got to the room, it was a king bed.
I called the front desk and was told they had “upgraded” me because rooms with two beds were overbooked and none were available. That wasn’t an upgrade for us — it meant two adults and a teenager were expected to share one bed. I asked for a cot and was told one would be brought up. I had to call twice more for the cot, but no one ever called me back or followed through. When I finally went to the front desk in person, the staff admitted there were no cots available at all.
As a result, one of our family members had to leave and stay with relatives. We considered doing the same but were told the hotel would not refund us for the second night, even though they failed to provide the accommodations we reserved and confirmed.
This entire experience felt unacceptable. At a minimum, I expected honesty up front and a willingness to work with us when the hotel couldn’t deliver what was promised. Instead, we were left stressed and uncomfortable at a time when we really needed reliability and compassion.
