"We were upgraded to a very nice suite and did that make a difference for the whole trip. Quiet, clean rooms, comfortable, showers with abundant hot water, personable staff at all times, and there was a very nice elegance about the hotel. The thermostat worked so we were comfortable with cold weather outside. It was convenient having restaurants on premises and nice to be given courtesy discounts. The location nearer the St. Louis Museum of Art was a plus. This was our first foray using a hotel...

"Loved the uniqueness of Cheshire inn and the themed rooms by authors. Had a great breakfast! Also the Fox and Hound Tavern inside and the Basso just a few steps away out the door.
The one thing I did miss was having a mini fridge and microwave. "

"Unfriendly staff answering several phone calls in the middle of check-in in spite of a long line of people waiting late at night.
Instead of just pre-authorizing the security deposit, they insisted on charging it and paying it back meaning that – as a tourist – I got to pay a currency conversion rate twice for something I shouldn’t pay for."
