Unfortunately, this time we had a different ground floor room and the bed was not as comfortable as the ones in the other room we’ve slept and the TV was tiny. "Really enjoyed our stay at Ashbys. Steve and Mubi were warm, welcoming and helpful and the room and public spaces (lounge / games room, kitchen, bar area) were comfortable and well equipped. It was clear that a lot of thought has been given to making Ashbys a unique place to stay: welcoming, relaxing and fun. A great location too for the bars, seafront and Southsea attractions! Our bathroom window needed a blind - more for the neighbours than anything! - and the bedroom a second bedside table...

"We had a pleasant and stress free stay with clean room and premises. Quiet location and parking on site. Nice breakfast served as per our requirements. Callum and Mrs Callum was very friendly and catered well as per our needs. Provided us with extra fan in our room as it was warm. They were even flexible to let us use the fridge and microwave to store and warm up the food we bought and even let us use the plates and cutleries. An enjoyable stay."

"A really lovely little place to stay. The room was spacious and the bed super comfortable. Having kitchen facilities to use is a bonus although we didn’t use them. The shower wasn’t great (rain head only) and I really struggled to work it. It would also be great to have a mirror in the bedroom area for getting ready as the only mirror was in the bathroom. "

"The hotel was exceptional. Location was fantastic - very near to bus stop, walking distance to the beach, a convenience store is nearby, there is a lovely restaurant within walking distance. The hotel itself was absolutely lovely - clean, cosy, comfortable. Just perfect. Wendy & Steve was the best. Would definitely come back. If anything, just one thing to be aware of - you need to up one flight of stairs to get to the bedrooms."
