Welcome to The Beached Whale! This waterfront, family-friendly condo is situated in the quaint town of Colonial Beach on the Potomac River. It is located on the second floor (steps only) above 2 restaurants with many other shops, restaurants, & attractions within walking distance. You also have access to a pool a few blocks away. This space has everything you need for a relaxing and fun-filled getaway!

Courtney was very responsive and helpful. The condo is in a fantastic location! Our only thought was the living room furniture could be more comfortable. It’s nice but nowhere to put your feet up

The Beached Whale was an amazing find! The condo was beautiful and very clean and you could NOT beat the views. The location was perfect. We were sad this trip was so short and cannot wait to return.

Wonderful condo!!!Lots of room, clean, nice decor, comfy, stocked kitchen. And the view from the balcony was breath taking!Great area. Not crowded, but plenty to do. Owner was very quick to respond to questions and accommodating. We will be definitely be back!!

Unit was super clean, great location and view. Nice and big.Only negatives:1. Over 2 restaurants, not smelly or noise for us but one was closed and it was off season.2. Hot water was barely hot enough. Should be hotter.3 Now the biggie, there is a very loud fan (or motor or compressor) noise in the MBR and MBR Bath. Some times the wall behind the toilet actually rattles. This noise is constant all day long! You get used to it and can eventually sleep, but....

We had a wonderful stay at the Beached Whale and would highly recommend it. The condo has a great view of the water and everything that you need including linens, tvs, cookware, etc. The host is very nice and quickly responds. Can’t wait to visit again.

Very clean and cozy home located in a great location - walking distance to many restaurants and attractions. The venue next door (Tiki Hut/High Tides) had live bands, but they weren't loud at all. Would stay here again.

Best vacation ever

A nice spot to stay above from the restaurants and bars. As we were on the balcony everyone from the street would asking us about the apartment. Its definitely worth it .

What a beautiful place!!

WOW!That just about sums up this property.Our stay was almost perfect (will mention a few negatives at the end of this review)The unit itself was very clean and pretty much matches the pictures in the listing. The beds were comfortable and the supplied linens and towels were very nice as well.The kitchen is well stocked as well.Courtney was a pleasure to deal with and there were no issues with check-in or anything else on her end.Only a couple minor issues (which would not stop us from visiting again)- there is a constant droning sound from the roof area above the master bedroom. I believe it is from the AC units that are on the roof (as well as the exhaust systems from the first floor restaurants) There is a sound machine included in that BR, but we sort of were able to just get 'used to it'.- You can hear the live music from the High Tides facility next door, but it does end at 11PM and with the windows closed it's not overbearing.- Lastly, the way they numbered the parking spots in the parking lot, makes no sense at all. The spot for this unit is in front of another stair case and not the stairs for this unit. Would love to hear the explanantion for why they numbered as they did.Anyway, as you can see, none of those issues are anything the owner has any control over.Definitely recommend staying here if in the area.Don't think you'll be disappointed.PS - the TV in the dining area does pull out from the wall, and can be angled towards the LR. Nice touch!

Great Beach Getaway

This unit is perfect for a getaway for a couple or friends. The balcony and primary bedroom have beach views, and there is outdoor seating for coffee or conversation. Several dining options are nearby, and there is also as a full kitchen if you want to stay in. Impeccably clean and comfortably furnished with very responsive management.

Beautiful water view

We like extremely CLEAN places, and this beautiful condo was above our expectations! View from porch was very calming. We enjoyed sitting outside. Beautiful condo had ALL the essentials. Comfortable bed. Just walk around the back to beach and nice safe walk way. Walk to restaurants. Everything was so nice. THANK YOU. P&T

Amazing getaway!

The Beached Whale is a beautiful, clean and comfortable condo! My family had a great time! MyWife enjoyed watching the sunrise from the beach front view. The location is perfect with restaurants right below and others within walking distance. The host, Courtney is extremely friendly and accommodating. My wife and I are already trying to figure out a date this summer that we can return.
