Uovertruffen hoteloplevelse i Køln.
Outstanding hotel oplevelse. Klassisk uden at være støvet, tvært imod. Staff er attentive og kompetente. Vi har været rundt i Europa og USA de sidste 4 uger, og har boet på gode hoteller men dette sidste stop på turen blev den bedste hoteloplevelse. Vi skulle kun have haft en overnatning men kort efter indtjekning blev vi enige om, at det var synd kun at have en overnatning på et sådan sted. Helt igennem skøn oplevelse.

Værelse 508 er helvedet midt i paradis
Hotellet er fremragende, MEN værelse 508 er en katastrofe. Det er shappy indrettet og ligger lige under hotellets motionscenters løbebånd. Larmen derfra er infernalsk. Det lyder som om nogen har startet et vejarbejde med en kæmpe dieselmotor lige over hovedet på dig. Jeg blev vækket kl 7.15 af den første motionist - og så fortsatte det ellers derfra. Personalet virkede uforstående, og som om de ikke rigtigt troede på, hvad jeg fortalte dem. Denne form for larm er helt øredøvende uacceptabel - og det kan en lille æske chokolade som kompensation ikke råde bod på. Det er faktisk lidt af en fornærmelse

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay - and would warmly recommend anyone visiting Cologne to stay at Excelsior Hotel Ernst! It is a stunning historic hotel with a prime location and excellent service. All in all PERFECT!

Basically a 5* experience at what is, by international standards, quite a reasonable price. Free extras for children (toy rabbit, special toiletries, etc.) were much appreciated.

Dette har været den bedste oplevelse vi nogensinde har prøvet, men man skal være klar over tillægsydelserne der skal betales og som man ikke umiddelbart er klar over førend der skal aftegnes, men på trods af dette, så var det hele en super og prismæssigt samlet god oplevelse

It’s located right in front of the dome and next to the train station so the location was perfect. As a 5 star hotel though, the internet connection was sporadic and I had to ask for tea. There was no complimentary coffee either. And the front desk staff members did their job. The room was rather outdated and showed wear and tear. I hated the big ole’ heavy key, but some might find them charming.

Service, staff, facilities are excellent and the hotel is extremely clean. The only thing that I would like to suggest is a complementary breakfast for suites.

This hotel is across the street from the cathedral and the location is in the heart of the city. You can literally walk from the train station to the hotel in 5 mins or less and this was super convenient as we had luggage with us. The staff was very tentative, helpful and professional. My wife loved the tea time and I highly recommend the 7 course dining experience the food was amazing and we left so full we could barley walk. Overall, I will be staying here again on my next trip.

Good, but room for improvement
Very good stay at this comfortable hotel. Expected to be shown to our room, but not a problem, although the sign posting for 110 is poor. Bed slightly too firm for our liking, but room otherwise comfortable. Liked the free minibar. Breakfast on the expensive side, but choice of freshly prepared food was excellent. Only real issue was that bar staff were overwhelmed on Saturday night and we gave up waiting for a drink/snack.

The checkin was very easy. The staff was very helpful and ensured we were comfortable throughout the stay. The valet parking was at both dropoff and pickup. The bar staff were very accommodating and friendly. At checkin, we asked about the christmas markets and were given a map with the locations. This made it easier to navigate around the area. Everyone in the party enjoyed the relaxed environment.

This property is so convenient for the railway station and it’s connection to the airport. It is right next to the Cathedral and the old town of Cologne. The staff were very friendly and helpful

Really wonderful
Overall a really amazing hotel. The staff working the front desk and lobby were all exceptionally well-trained and friendly. Our check-in was quick and easy and the room was beautiful and very clean. Lots of room, high ceilings, 2 Juliet balconies, rainfall shower and lovely toiletries. Also, the piano bar is a nice place to get some champagne and beautiful cakes/pastries. We'd definitely stay here again in the future.

Don’t fall for the “upgrade” con
What a beautiful place. We were offered an upgrade and agreed but felt the desk person was being a bit underhanded about it. Sure enough, the amount he told us was much less than the outrageous price we paid. We should have checked into it more before we agreed but felt that a 5-star hotel would be more concerned about its pristine reputation than conning foreigners out of some money.
