Moose Bottom Cottage - 45 minutes and a million miles from Calgary!

Nestled in a scenic valley, where the limitless expanses of the Prairies wash up against the majestic east wall of the Canadian Rockies, this gorgeous cottage was purposely built for the perfect holiday getaway, vacation or staycation. Privacy and seclusion abound whilst the open setting means that full advantage is made of every hour of sunlight!
Attached and heated garage as well as outdoor parking.

The bright open kitchen, with west facing window is fitted with high end appliances and looks out toward the rolling wooded hills and the peak of Mt Davidson . The same view can be seen through the glass wall of patio doors in the open plan living area. These doors open onto a paved patio area which is partially covered to be enjoyed in all weathers. The patio makes an excellent viewpoint as the ground drops away to the south and west toward seasonal and year round creeks with the lush vegetation providing food for the moose and deer as well as countless birds.
To the east an enclosed porch with huge windows provides the perfect location for morning coffee looking over the lawn and towards the 1/4 acre pond.

At the far end of the living room is a spectacular fireplace set in a full height brick surround with the warmth and relaxed ambience of a fire at the flick of a switch.

The bright and spacious master bedroom with King size bed has a full en-suite with shower and bathtub. There is also a kids bedroom with bunk beds and another bedroom with a Queen bed.

Common bathroom is friendly for wheelchair user. Equipped with heated toilet bidet seat and roll-in shower and sink.

Our family home is 200 metres away, meaning we can provide that perfect mix of privacy and service for our valued guests.

There is 36 acres of natural vegetation for all to explore.

It has easy access to city of Cochrane and Calgary as well as the RockyMountain for hiking, kayaking, skiing etc. Yet the cottage is surrounded by nature, peaceful and beautiful.

Moose Bottom Cottage is 1 hour North East of Canmore, 45 min North West of Calgary, 25 min North of Cochrane with restaurants, theatre and grocery etc.

Complementary ground coffee, hot chocolate and tea bags.
Grocery shopping in advance is also offered with a surcharge of CAD30 - please give us at least 48 hour notice.

Truly spectacular views, clean and comfy house, all the dishes and things you'd need in a kitchen to cook, very responsive host! They even gave us fresh chicken eggs from their coop! Hot tub was great, loved being there. Would go out again :)

Peace and quiet

Beautiful home, Comfortable beds and everything we needed. Owners are great and easy to contact. They have chickens and gave us fresh eggs. The only thing I wasn't a fan of is the sliding barn doors on the bathrooms. Still an exceptional place with the peace and quiet we needed. Thanks for everything.

Such a beautiful piece of property, if you are looking for a place to unwind and relax, this is it. The house has everything you need, and the kitchen is well equipped, they even have selection of toys and board games which we really enjoyed. Jon and Kita were easy to communicate with and offered us to walk around their gardens which we did one day after supper and their chickens were a highlight for my daughter. Quick Getaway

Six of us stayed comfortably and enjoyed a wonderfully relaxing getaway. It’s so close to Calgary, yet it feels like you’re much farther away. The place was spotless, and the nearby horses were beautiful to watch. We really appreciated the thoughtful welcome wine and card. This was our second time staying here, and we’ll definitely be back again.

Cozy, Remote, and Convenient

Just an hour from the Calgary airport, but we felt like we were in the middle of nowhere. The floor plan work really well for us; 3 bedrooms and 2 baths with an open concept living room, dining room, and kitchen. The kitchen was well appointed and we cooked up a storm; everything from gumbo to pizza. We had great neighbors: horses, cows, and a small herd of deer. The weather was very cold. Most days were below zero F, but the cabin was so warm and cozy that we were content to enjoy our time indoors. We did go skiing in Banff one day when it warmed up to 19 F. Jon and Kita were wonderful hosts. Great communication, even offered to help with buying groceries if we needed it, but otherwise They just left us alone so that we could do our thing. I highly recommend this property if you are looking for a secluded spot where you can unwind and relax yet still be close enough to places to go and have some fun.

Absolutely Super Hosts For A Super Property

Place was amazing

This weekend was a gift for my daughter and her husband. This is what she had to say: "This place was amazing! So cozy and clean, and all of the appliances, fixtures, and supplies were top-of-the-line. The view from the living room was mesmerizing; you could just stare out into the pastures all day, like watching a big fish tank. Just gorgeous."

Honeymoon Retreat

8 great nights spent at the cottage! Quiet to enjoy the mountains and property, even had 2 deer walk through and 3 bears in the distance. Very cool to see! The hot tub was the best way to end a day spent in the Parks & was very clean. Rest of the cottage was very clean & there were so many things provided to make the stay more like home. LOVED the light in the bathrooms, fireplace, and the drive back each night led us to see 3 moose & dozens of elk! Only downfall is it's a bit far from northern parts of the Rockies, just makes for a long drive back.

Rest and Relaxation

Beautiful landscape and view, combined with an immaculately clean and cozy cottage, made for a wonderful 4 night get away for our family. The hosts were lovely and accessible- great communication. Peaceful countryside

We absolutely adored this place. The views were stunning. They had coffee and all the necessities to cook. The porches were simply perfect to sit outside and soak in the sunsets. There was a hot tub but we didn’t get the chance to enjoy it. We just loved the doors that opened from the living area to the patio. The owners were such nice people and gave us all the necessary codes prior to arrival. Would absolutely stay again!

Our Second Visit to Moose Bottom Cottage

We returned to Moose Bottom this year for the second time and enjoyed it even more than the first time 2 years ago. The hot tub was the perfect way to end each day, soaking and watching the landscape, wildlife, and stars all around us. The hosts, Jon and Kita, were once again so gracious and kind giving us everything we needed. Mother-in-law stayed with us 1 night and she was just as impressed, asking "where did you find this place?" Taking our dogs for a walk along the acreage was a highlight of each day and the dogs loved it! We will certainly be back :)
