"It was great to stay in one of the historical Earl Young Mushroom Houses. We took full advantage of our week there, exploring the Charlevoix area. Great location, view and well kept property. It is the first stop on the Mushroom House tour, so there is the paparazzi, with the house being the celebrity. Other than that, it was a great stay."

"My mom/sisters/I rented this home for a week of fun with our kids ranging from 16 months to 16 years - and we had a blast! The yard, lake access, and deck were perfect! We didn't spend much time indoors but the beds were comfy and we were able to make nice meals and watch some Olympics. We also rented a pontoon boat and a lily pad which made spending time on Elk Lake even better. "

"The property was spectacular, far nicer than even the pictures show. Having 5 full bathrooms for 10 beds is wonderful! And all guests said they were the most comfy beds ever! The open concept space brought all 7 of us together. The home could easily hold 10 people. We met the home’s super personable owner and invited her to our son’s wedding. "This house has everything needed for a perfect relaxing vacation. The house is centrally located between all the lakes. We were able to bring our boat and have it with us and the public launch is right across the lake. The house was tastefully decorated and the deck was very relaxing. We made use of the firepit by the lake several nights. Looking forward to returning next year. Will definitely book this house again. I highly recommend the Clam Cottage! "

"My three sons, their wives and children. And I stayed here for a week. Plenty of room. Lots of extra roll away beds and bed linens. The kitchen was well stocked with cookware, glasses and dishes. The house was bigger than it looked from the outside. 'Nice little walk to the beach and not even the 3 year old complained. The host was very responsive when I had questions/concerns. Great place for a larger group."

"This is a beautiful home with an incredible view of Crooked Lake. Local activities for us in Petoskey, Harbor Springs and Boyne included yoga, golf, spa day and farmers market. Lake activities included kayaking and paddle boarding. The kitchen was fantastic for creating some delicious meals and the decks allowed for some peaceful discussions while lake gazing. Accommodations are definitely five star "

"This house was in a great location, just about a 10 minute walk to all the shops downtown. The house had everything you needed and it was an easy process to get in. The only downside is that the shower is TINY! I’m a short/relatively small person and felt like I didn’t have much room to maneuver. If you’re a larger person, you may have trouble fitting. Would suggest the owners think about expanding it where they currently have shelves and just get an over the toilet rack to put the towels on...
