"While the price point is modest, the rooms are uncomfortably damp, which significantly affects the stay. Some effort has clearly gone into updating the décor, but this doesn’t compensate for the fact that the rooms are very small and feel poorly ventilated.
Breakfast is extremely basic — about as minimal as it gets — and does not add any real value to the experience.
This hotel may work as a cheap place to sleep if you spend all day out, but overall comfort is lacking. With better attention to...

"LOVED everything about this place except the madrasses which were too hard. We were in the hostel like room under the roof with the most beautiful view of the lagoon. Renovate it a bit and it will be heaven on earth. Service, food, drinks and everything else was fantastic. Go to Bacalar center and eat at the charming square or at Mr. Taco and you will have a perfect stay in Bacalar. Enjoy!"

My kids loved the pool and the food at the restaurant is delicious. It really does feel like a little sanctuary. It is in the busy city so it’s not super quiet but the convenience of the location is worth it. I would come back!! Thank you Poza Clara!! ❤️"

"Nice place with a beautiful location. I loved the hammock and the view. The breakfast you order the night before and they get it from a restaurant in the city. It is really good. I missed having a similar option for lunch, as it is fairly secluded with very limited restaurant options close by.
It is a bit outside of the city, so it costs 80-100 pesos with a taxi to go the city.
It would have been great to have received information beforehand about the lagoon being rocky, so I could have brought...

Also note its is from 18 years. "
