"We had the most amazing stay at the zen villa. The home has all the supplies that you need in case you grab groceries to cook. We enjoyed every minute on the pool deck and on the beach located down the pathway. The bed is comfy, and the grounds are beautiful. Just note, there isn’t AC in the house except in the bedrooms. There are some great restaurants located right across the street from the property in case you need a chill day and don’t want to travel in town."

"What a beautiful property! Communication with the owner was fantastic. We rented the three casitas on the property and all were perfect for our group. The grounds and pool were immaculate. The wildlife was abundant with sloths, parrots, toucans, capuchin monkeys, howlers and more. Cesar and Maribel were there for all of our needs and made us feel safe. Would highly recommend for sure!"

"The host lived on the property and was available for whatever was needed. he was friendly and provided us with bottled water. We loved the 3 bungalows. The curtains on the windows were not darkening curtains and did not allow for privacy. therefore you could see into the room when the lights were on. Beautiful place for a large family to stay. I would stay here again. walking distance to the beach, natonal forest and town."

"My family had a truly wonderful vacation at this rental! The house was lovely, clean, and well kept, creating an enjoyable and memorable experience. The location was excellent, with convenient beach access but you do need to cross the road. "The primary reason to stay in this casita is the location and the stunning views. The garden is beautiful with a path that opens to La Playa Negra. The beach is quiet and private and absolutely breathtaking. We were able to spot the sloth in the garden on a few occasions and had an up close view of him moving once which was very special. As previously mentioned in reviews, there was a bottle of wine and chocolate waiting for us. We were met to check in and get acclimated to the environment....

"This was our second time staying at Villa Toucan. We love the place. It has more wildlife than anywhere else we've been in Costa Rica. Oropendolas, Macaws, Toucans, and Bat Falcons all nesting right in view of the outdoor kitchen. This place also has a large concentration of snakes, spiders, and beautiful Poison Dart Frogs. It's in your face wilderness! The house is tucked up into Manzanillo National Park with a nice walk to one of the prettiest beaches we've seen. We will return again!"

"Waking up to the sounds of the beach is amazing! Just a short walk down through their beautiful garden with a resident sloth is the black sand and warm waves. The room was quite comfortable. The bathroom could use a couple more hooks for wet items since things take a while to dry. The property managers are extremely responsive to any concerns and very welcoming!"

"Club Puerto Viejo was amazing. Having access to a pool and other relaxing spaces is what my family needed. We loved the outdoor lounge and kitchen areas. The rooms were great too and usually cooled off at night. We also enjoyed being close to the beach and great places to eat. Those looking for rest and relaxation will love this place!!"

"We loved our stay at Las Casas - it was our own slice of paradise. The pictures don’t do it justice. One thing to note there is no games room or yoga deck but we didn’t mind as we had more space than we knew what to do with. There were so many wild animals passing through we were in heaven and the staff couldn’t have been better. Hoping we can return again one day."

"Based on previous reviews, I booked! I did not receive the warm welcome others spoke about. I made several inquiries to the host weeks before my arrival, only receiving a reply the day I was in route to the area. When flying to another country it's common to ask for the location information prior to your arrival. This helps to make transportation arrangements. Pros: 1. "We had a great time staying at Gecko's lodge. Tine and Rene were very welcoming and made our stay really enjoyable. We loved the treehouse and the open air concept that gave us a really neat experience in the rainforest setting. We were able to see monkeys, sloths, frogs, birds and many other animals all in their natural habitat, right from the deck of the house and walking through the garden. "Lovely resort tucked away from the hustle and bustle of the busy town. You wouldn’t even know it’s there. Need to have coffee makers in the rooms along with access to communal water and ice. For the price, it was expensive."
