## Emplacement
Between the green hills and the Opal Sea, Camiers-Sainte-Cécile has a tumultuous history. It is said for example that Julius Caesar took refuge there with his fleet. Or that Frénégonde, Charlemagne's wife, died there. Historical facts or local legends? No one knows! Whatever the case, the end of the 19th century saw the appearance of a wealthy British clientele, essentially attracted by sea bathing. The seaside resorts of Saint Gabriel and Sainte Cécile were born.
Here, just a stone's throw from Le Touquet-Paris-plage and Etaples-sur-mer, a palette of remarkable landscapes can be seen.
