Once bitten twice never again useless internet
Stopped before but thought everybody deserves a second chance but sorry youve blown it very very dated upstairs downstairs looks quite nice. And one basic must have now a days is internet and the dont have it

The hotel was clean and comfortable. However, is very dated and needs some updating doing. There is damp in the rooms and the bathrooms definitely need an update.

A lack of reinvestment over the years is begining to show a rose losing its petals gold losing it's lustre. Remembering it from years ago i think it's a shame

I was visiting relatives and the hotel Is comfortable and convenient The staff are friendly and helpful and there is ample parking .

Ok for one night
Room was very tired and windows rotten and not closing properly (room 9) lighting was inadequate and mattress was well worn. Bathroom was tired but the shower was very good

Only book if all others are full
Needed a last min hotel. Clean but dated Food average , some staff were helpful Free parking No night porter on when i checked out at 0500

Hello Mark, Thank you for the review.The night port is always on sight. We do not have a receptionist and guest are advised on booking on how to get a staff members attention when needed as we are staffed 24/7, so there is always someone ready to help. We are currently awaiting confirmation dates for our major refub to happen

Single night business stay over
A single night and a hidden gem for food, the hotel is very quirky as it is an old building but the rooms are nice and clean. The evening meal menu was very plentiful and my meal was extremely well cooked and tasty, the full English brekkie was beautifully cooked too There is a lovely park about a quarter mile walk away

There was a couple of irritating matters but by speaking personally to the manager these were quickly resolved. Far better to speak to management than just moan on these sites My whole stay was very enjoyable with friendly and helpful staff.

The property is in need of refurbishment.,the overall building especially upstairs in the accommadation is of a poor quality and shabby. Some of staff do not respond when you enter the breakfast area there were four member sitting at a table and it waxs some time before one of them acknowledge us,this is not the experience we 2wish to have. I would rather pay a higher rate a d have better accomadation.

Very dated rooms, couldn’t find a wall with out a mark, stain or some sort of damage. Service slow with staff overworked. One socket in the room with very low voltage, struggled to charge my laptop to 50% over 8 hours.

Seen better days
One night stopover, with local visit nearby next day. Tired old place, seen better days, creaking all over the shop. Staff seemed thin in the ground. Service not the best but food was decent enough and reasonably priced.

Polite staff, sadly letting rooms need updating
Hotel rooms are very tired badly bk need renovation. We booked a superior room which was in need of refurbishment- dated bathroom and room needed decorating. Tea and coffee hadn’t been refilled just poor attention to detail. On the positive side carpark spaces were plentiful and breakfast was good. Staff were friendly and polite. Stayed as we were attending a wedding reception across the road and it was convenient but would not stay again unless the rooms were updated. The pub and restaurant were tastefully renovated but sadly not the letting rooms.

Avoid like the plague
This was a one night stay for convenience. Rooms were very basic but functional. There was a couple having loud sex in the room next door for about an hour on the morning prior to check out. It was so depraved and sick.

Hotel is tired and in need of refurbishment
The hotel is looking very tired and in desperate need of refurbishment. I was initially given a room in an outbuilding on the car park - which I duly refused to take as I felt security and the standard of the room was not fit for purpose. The shower required a flight of steps to reach it and the room was not very clean or well presented . I was subsequently given a room at the front of the hotel with a four poster bed. Though this room was much better it still was not of a good enough standard. The staff were very helpful and it’s obviously not their fault but I would not stay at this hotel again.

This Hotel is in serious need of refurbishment and an update. The entrace door looked like it was about to fall off. The windows were rotten and mouldy, the ceiling had mould on it and the bathroom was a disgrace. Sink was cracked etc. I stay away for business on a regular basis and often in Greene King Pubs, but this one is the worst....I wont stay again.

A definite miss
From the moment we arrived walking through the maze of the pub to find the front desk unmanned, we knew this place was not specialising as a hotel. The directions to the room could have been done with a guide in the darkness. The room was really underwhelming. A TV so high up at an angle that you have to lay on the uncomfortable beds. No heating, just a small portable fan heater. The lack of plug sockets that means you choose between warmth, boiling the kettle or charging/using your items. The bathroom just reeked of unclean. My wife is post transplant and staying here would have put her health at risk. So our stay of 30 minutes was mostly spent booking another hotel. Never have I ever not stayed somewhere I have paid and booked, dropped the keys straight back off and told the manager we were not staying because of the conditions. Didn't bat an eyelid, no apologies, nothing. Not even shock, like it was expected. Pub looked nice, definitely all the eggs lay in that basket.

Lovely hotel in a good location
Spent a couple of nights at this very impressive hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was a double on the top floor with an en-suite. Very clean and peaceful. I would imagine the building was quite old as the floors were a bit uneven, no doubt due to some old and uneven timbers. There was a large area for parking and quite a nice small lake outside. The only issue although no fault of the hotel is the access to & from the hotel from what is a very busy A449 Stourbridge Road. Location is very good; not too far from Wolverhampton & Dudley.

Great hotel
The hotel room was basic but clean and comfortable . It was warm too. The breakfast was superb. The staff were brilliant and could not do enough to Be helpful. I will stay there again

Front of house is ok but my room in the annexe was grotty: not heated when I arrived in the afternoon with freezing temperatures outside, all radiators were off, the towel rail electrics looked unsafe and didn’t work, the walls in the hall were crumbling and window frames had rotted, so the bathroom window couldn’t close. Terrible.
