You will find ample parking in the driveway. The neighborhood is extremely safe, but we always encourage guests to lock the car and bring valuables inside. Once inside you can open the garage door for another parking space. The house is a scenic 15 minute drive (11 miles) to downtown Berkeley Springs. There are many great dining and activity options in downtown Berkeley Springs. There are many artisan and antique shops, as well as, spas and holistic stores in the area. Cacapon South is a private neighborhood located directly across rt522 from Cacapon State Park. This is a beautiful year-round destination that encompasses 6,000 acres of outdoor activities including: 18 hole golf course and driving range Hiking trails Mountain biking trails Trail running loops Two fishing and swimming lakes Fenced in dog park Horseback riding Skeet shooting Tennis and volleyball courts Nature center Recently renovated lodge with a full spa and banquet hall We have recently upgraded the Wi-Fi, the speed is 200kb, which is good for online streaming and gaming. Burn bans are in effect during the spring and fall. Open fires (in the outdoor fire pit only) are allowed during these specific times: Spring Forest Fire season March 1-May 31 5:00PM to 7:00AM Fall Forest Fire Season October 1- December 31 5:00PM to 7:00AM You may not use the fire pit prior to 5:00 PM during these times. The home is perched upon a hill with ample space the run around on flat land. The surrounding ravine is steep, please supervise children (and adults that may act like children) outside. During winter months, November-March, (sometimes later October and early April, weather depending) four-wheel drive is highly recommended. If inclement weather is forecasted, we recommend snow tires or chains. The home is located in a very hilly neighborhood and the driveway is steep. We are not able to issue a refund in the case of inclement weather impacting your trip.
