Escape to Sugar Hut, a charming round house nestled in a private wooded setting just three minutes from Sugar Mountain Ski Resort. Located less than a mile from the ski slopes, a public golf course, and tennis courts, this cozy retreat serves as the perfect home base for year-round adventures with family and friends.

In the winter months, you can enjoy skiing, snowboarding, ice skating, and snow tubing at Sugar Mountain. When the weather warms up, spend your days golfing, hiking, or exploring the stunning beauty of the High Country. Nearby attractions include the Wilderness Run Alpine Coaster, only seven minutes away, as well as delightful downtown Banner Elk, which features local shops, restaurants, and events at Lees-McRae College. Don't miss Grandfather Vineyard & Winery for excellent wine, live music, and breathtaking mountain views. Be sure to visit Grandfather Mountain and the famous Mile High Swinging Bridge, located just nine miles away, or take a scenic drive along the Blue Ridge Parkway, which is about 20 minutes from the cabin.

A gravel parking area leads to the front entrance, where you'll step into the spacious entry area accented by a natural stone wall—perfect for storing skis, snowboards, hiking boots, and outdoor gear.

A spiral staircase leads to the bright and inviting main level. Floor-to-ceiling windows fill the open living, dining, and kitchen area with natural light, creating a relaxing treehouse ambiance surrounded by the forest. The beautifully updated kitchen features stainless steel appliances and a striking copper backsplash that adds warmth and character to the space.

The main level offers two comfortable bedrooms. The primary bedroom includes a queen bed, an en suite bathroom with a large tiled walk-in shower, and direct access to the deck. The second bedroom also features a queen bed and is served by a hallway bathroom with a tiled step-in shower.

Outside, enjoy the serene mountain setting. The wraparound deck includes a covered seating area for relaxing in any weather, as well as an open-air section with a gas grill and a wrought-iron bistro table for outdoor dining. Just off the deck, a custom flagstone patio with a chimenea and Adirondack chairs provides the perfect spot to gather around the fire after a day of exploration.

Two dogs are welcome for an additional fee. During the winter months (October through March), we strongly recommend using a four-wheel-drive or all-wheel-drive vehicle, and chains may be necessary in snowy or icy conditions.
