    Property Highlights:

    Expansive 5-acre grounds offer sweeping views, hiking trails, and a thoughtfully curated blend of natural beauty and sculptural art. With far more space and privacy than a typical neighborhood setting, guests can enjoy a peaceful retreat immersed in nature. A second detached living quarter on the property may also be rented during your stay. While each space is fully separate and secluded, guests may occasionally share the pool and outdoor common areas.

    Outdoor Amenities: Relax at the large built-in picnic table below the porch or explore the open-air plaza nearby. Wander along hiking pathways leading to three serene ponds or the spectacular 90,000-gallon pool featuring a grotto and waterfall.
    Austin Hill Country Charm: Experience the tranquility of the Austin Hill Country while being just minutes from downtown Austin.
    Important Details:

    Natural Terrain: The property features gravel roads, walkways, and uneven stone stairs. Sensible shoes or tennis shoes are recommended for navigating the rough terrain.
    Nature and Wildlife: Immerse yourself in nature with modern comforts. Expect to see birds, squirrels, lizards, and the occasional bug or spider.
    Eco-Friendly Pool: The pool is naturally fed by rainwater and free of chemicals, with fish swimming and some silt on the bottom. A robust filtration system filters the entirety of the pool every hour, so it is safe to swim in year-round. It may appear green in spring and early summer, but it remains safe for swimming. Please note that this isn’t your typical chlorinated backyard pool, and it is more like swimming in a natural swimming hole. We absolutely love it, but want to point this out as that may not be everyone’s cup of tea!

Beautiful property within Westlake Hills... it is a perfect retreat especially if you want to balance connecting with nature and visiting downtown Austin. Highly recommend for couples and families.

We really enjoyed our stay here! The casita had everything we needed and the grounds were amazing. The location was also great, it was close to everything, yet felt remote. Would definitely stay here again. Thanks for a great weekend!

Great, unique property close to Downtown Austin but in a quiet, secluded pet friendly area. The host did a great job with extra touches like a personalized welcome note and local beverages stocked in the fridge. We were able to visit the Thomas Dambo troll at Pease park and visit the Capitol building with an easy drive to both. Highly recommended this property for a unique stay in a busy city.

This property is beautiful and serene. You’ll feel like you’ve driven an hour out of town but you’re only 15 minutes from downtown. It was like being at summer camp again. If you’re thinking about booking, just do it. You won’t be disappointed. Dogs had a great time as well.

Great views, cool art, super comfortable beds, and secluded, but near what you need. This was such a great stay! Our dogs loved it, and our daughter loved it! We got to enjoy nature by hiking the property, and enjoy some peace. The pool is more like a lake and even has some fish friends, but it was so beautiful and fun, my daughter loved it. The home had all amenities you could ever need! Forgot something? It’s there. Need something? It’s already there. So glad we picked and stayed here.

Casita with wonderful character

Loved the place and the surrounding grounds. Perfect spot to relax and unwind with family. Lots of thought and care have gone into creating an artist setting with interesting touches everywhere.

The casita was great! We loved the design and the artistic elements. The grounds were quiet and beautiful. The pool is like nothing I've ever seen. What an interesting concept. The location was just right for us, a relatively short drive for groceries and restaurants while still secluded. This place is unique!

Quiet getaway

Stayed here with my husband and 2 small dogs. Such a charming property! Be sure to check the parking instructions ahead of time so you know how to access the property. Bed was super comfortable, great working AC to cool off, and very well maintained property. Would definitely stay again and recommend.

Idyllically Remote

Beautiful, remote location in Westlake Hills. Enjoyed the artwork and sculptures throughout the property. Enjoyed all the manicured trails weaving throughout the property. Really enjoyed the quiet offered by this location.

It was exactly what we needed. A beautiful relaxing escape, more than we expected. Finding art works around the grounds became a game for us. I highly recommend this slice of paradise.

Peaceful and Secluded

We were helping our daughter move from one home to another in Austin. This was the perfect place to come home to in the evenings. It is a beautiful, well-equipped place, with lovely outdoor seating areas and lighting, just what we needed after some very long days.

I never found the hot tub, the entrance is a bit tricky getting my truck in and out. But besides that very nice property. I would definitely stay again

This property rules, truly one of the most actually luxurious short term rentals I’ve ever booked. The home has a lot of character, is incredibly comfortable, and nothing about it feels like a flipped property used as passive income. Just really comfortable, airy, and nice. The only disappointment is that the property is shared with another rental; my wife and I were initially very disappointed by this, because we booked the stay while our puppy was in heat, and having actual distance from people/seclusion was a safety concern. Even so, there’s still plenty of space and privacy, and in our 10 day stay, it never came up as an issue. Just feels worth mentioning, because it did feel like a piece of information omitted from the listing that other renters might be interested to know. Worth reiterating, though, that I’m still leaving a 5-star review, would absolutely book again, and feel like this spot was well worth the expense.

A breath of fresh air!

David's place made me remember how great the outdoors can be... from the comfort of a cozy patio and relaxing stay! There was plenty of room for me and my friends and we celebrated a very chill Halloween with snacks and spooky movies, all in the privacy of our little home away from home. Thanks again for opening your doors to us, David!

Amazing property away from the noise of the city

The house is beautiful and stocked with everything you could ask for and more. One of the few rentals I have stayed in that went above and beyond with appliances, cookware, and everything else you need, including toiletries if you happen to forget your own! The property is beyond beautiful and captures the natural side of what is definitely one of the busiest cities around. You won't have to travel far to be in the heart of the city, which makes this ideal for quiet getaways, while having access to one of my favorite cities in the country.

my favorite retreat I’ve ever stayed in Tx

this place is truly special and one of a kind- it’s perched in the treetops but beautiful sculptures are nestled everywhere on the property. From the outdoor shower to enjoying golden hour dining al fresco, you would never feel like you’re in Austin.Having lived in Texas and Austin for over 15 years, this place gives you the best of both worlds- 10 min from Downtown but once you’re in the hills, you’ll get to enjoy all the beautiful nature, smells and wildlife.It’s perfect for you if you’re looking for a nature retreat that will allow you to slow down and disconnect but is also close enough to creature comforts. The pool is such a treat to use and the water makes your skin feel rejuvenated. I will try to stay at this property everytime I come back to town- its magic
