Beautiful Lake house!

This home was wonderful! It was clean, beautiful, comfortable and above expectations from the pictures. We loved the loft area for the kids and the 2 private bedrooms. I actually love ved the second bath being downstairs off the underneath patio for use when sitting underneath. The lake access was more steep and challenging than we expected. I give the home and view 5 stars but reduced to 4 for lake access.

Beautiful location

Location is beautiful, a quick walk to the lake with a patio of the gorgeous views. Beds were comfortable. The house had everything we needed.

Family vacation

it was a wonderful getaway woth family. The house was great and the beach was awesome. Grandgirls loved the swimming.

Awesome vacation rental

This was our second time staying at this house and it never fails to exceed expectations. The boat launch is just a mile up the road and we were able to park the boat up on the beach area just down the hill from the house. Definitely a must for our annual family vacation

It’s a lake house not the Hilton!

We enjoyed our stay. The house was clean the beach is perfect clearest water you can find here. The drive in is a little long but, not terrible. I will admit after reading previous reviews I was a little concerned to come here but, once we got here it was not bad at all this is a lake house yes it has paneling but the house is not disgusting. The living room furniture could be replaced soon but, with the beach this place has why would you even be in the house?

Lake house

Great place. Needs to Be pressure washed and clean place up outside. Spider webs covered the place. Other than that, great place and location.

Overall

The only issue we had with the property was the cleanliness. It obviously hasn’t been cleaned outside nor inside in a while. When we arrived the floors had not been swept after the last tenants.

Could Be Better

We have used HomeAway for prior bookings in the area and this ranks as the lowest satisfaction we have had for staying at Sam Rayburn. Pros: The location was good and had a nice porch to sit on to look out to the lake. One of the better views we have had. There is a beach area that is very short walk for the kids to mess around in the water. Location is also a nice if you are coming from the west. There was enough room for a boat, lots of space under the house and had plenty of space inside for the 6 people that came. Check in process was easy with a lock box on the door and all the paperwork could be processed electronically. Now for the Cons: I was very disappointed in the listing. We specifically searched for a house that allowed pets. It stated "pets welcome, pets allowed" and no where did it say when booked that it would be on a case by case basis. Trying to be considerate to inform what type of dog we would be bringing, we were told that the dog would not be allowed. Requesting clarification where in the listing it said that, the property manager pointed me to a listing not on HomeAway. Reminding them that I booked on HomeAway, they informed me that HomeAway was not pulling the data over, however, HomeAway said it is the responsibility of the owner/property manager for content and accuracy. Then overnight the listing changed. I would recommend that you contact this property manager prior to booking on HomeAway to confirm accuracy. While location is great, the house is very dated on the inside. Needs several things fixed and maintained. Several times the dishwasher tipped forward as it does not seem to be properly installed. Upstairs loft gets very warm during the day. Bath linens provided need to be thrown out and replaced. Could have real potential if there was more TLC. Cleanliness was sub par. Heavy layers of dust on the fans, need to have the cleaning service wash the mattress pads, sand in spots on the floor. A disaster of kitchenware in the cabinets and drawers (only 3 butter knives!?). Lots of empty bottles/cans/beach stuff down by the water (not necessarily the owners fault). The house could have real potential but not in it's current state that we experienced. Will likely look elsewhere when we return.
