"Accommodations are basic - definitely not a luxury motel. But who cares. If you are looking for fun, funky and convenient you could not ask for a better place to stay. Very close to the NE park entrance. Coffee, breakfast and dinner places within a 1-2 minute walk. Surprisingly interesting food choices. Motel staff are super friendly. We would stay again."

"we stayed in many places around the park, from Jackson to West to Red Lodge, and this by far was our favorite and most comfortable. The owner called me by name every time we met. The bed was the most comfortable of all the places during our 4 day adventure. Its cost, rustic feel was perfect. A storm rolled in and the whole town lost power but it was remedied quickly by him turning on their generator to ensure we had a safe accessible evening. Fresh coffee in the morning for our morning wolf...

"Silver Gate Lodging is located only 2-3 miles from the NE entrance to Yellowstone. The room has been remodeled and was comfortable. The property manager greeted us promptly at the counter in the General Store. She gave us a quick rundown of other businesses nearby for food, coffee, etc. She offered free internet while sitting on the General Store front porch. "This is an older motel but very clean. It is the perfect place to unplug. Even if you dont want to. This wasn't a big deal for me but it might be for others. The only place the wifi works is at the office/camp store, no cell service and no tv's. It was very relaxing to sit around the camp fire each night. The rooms are clean but small. The shower was also very small."
