The outside of property was fine, inside very dated. the hair dryer in our room was broken and it fell apart while using it and I got shocked, told the front desk that it needed replaced.

This was a good location for external dining if I desired. The staff was very friendly. I left an important binder at the front desk accidently. The desk person brought it to me. The property was quite worn on the outside. Inside the hotel was descent.

Last bed in town
In budget hotels you usually get what you pay for, but sometimes you get even less. Run down, soiled carpet, no hot water, uncomfortable bed and pillows on aluminum box frame that flexes and makes metallic noise as you shift. Pursue only if no other option in Newton.

Property was clean, however there was wall paper peeling off the wsll by the bed. Lamps were missing the light bulbs so had to switch the one bulb between the lamps to make due. Towel rack in bathroom was missing the bar and brakets were torn from wall. Tissue box was empty. Said it had breakfast but no one there at 6 am. Coffee machine out of order, juice machine turned off, no food. Tile on steps to second floor missing, not safe. Generally not as advertised and pretty disappointing.

This property very run down. The help at the front desk was amazing. When pulled down bed, found a pair of glass, window was ducked taped and rough looking area. Other guest (long term) were very noisy waking us up at 3:00am plus talking in the halls all night.

I’m reminded that cheaper is not always better. It’s been a couple years since I’ve stayed here … and it was bad then! Long black hair in the shower, beer bottle cap on the carpet, towels and linen old/shabby and should be thrown out! Dirty walls, moldy walls in bathroom. No Kleenex and no plastic cups to drink from. No alarm clock in the room. Fan mounted on wall blowing but no batteries in the remote for it. Staff at front desk were terrible and most often non existent! Unsafe as the outer doors did not close and secure! This appears to have been done on purpose (I tried to close them so they would latch - and they wouldn’t) maybe because they appear to have rented second floor space on the second floor to individuals providing massages!!!! Lots of people coming and going. Hispanic man in a guests room with the door open while he argued with the cleaning lady … maybe they were married and arguing as there were small children running around in the room between them as they argued. I promptly told the cleaning lady my room was fine and did not need cleaning!!! Breakfast was a joke!!! Packages of hostess powered donuts and granola bars were offered! No bread for toast … no bagels! I will NEVER stay there again … it appears to be rundown and going out of business … it SHOULD go out of business!!!

Is saving money on services worth a bad review?
When we arrived at our reserved hotel, another guest was standing at the empty front desk. We asked how long he'd been there. He said five minutes and he had rang the bell three times. Then we noticed a number to call while we were right there. The clerk arrived after we called. Check in went well and easy and he asked if we needed suitcase carts. When we got to the room the air-conditioning and a fan were on freezing the room out. It took a while to achieve a comfortable temperature. There was only one set of towels for a reserved room for two adults. The TV did not work. I felt guilty making this review without trying to contact the front desk. It was late and after our arrival with no one there we figured it would be more work for us to contact assistance.

I can’t begin to tell you how awful this place is. Please do not stay here. First sign was the big piece of tile missing at the top of the stairs. Huge tripping hazard. All lights on second floor hall didn’t have one cover. Which did not help the baby blue wall color. Room had a smell of mildew. Bathroom floor was sticky. Lamp shade had stains all over it. Headboard looked like it had never been dusted or wiped down. There were arguments clearly heard from other rooms throughout the night. All the towels had stains on them. This is by far the most disgusting room I have ever stayed in. I would have checked out but all other hotels were booked. The next morning there was no breakfast but I would not have eaten it anyways. I went to the truck stop next door and there was a sign saying Asian Massage Room 223. This was three doors down from me. How does this happen?! This should be investigated and I can’t believe Travelocity has a place like this listed. The city of Newton needs to look into this as well. Disgusting! Please please do not stay here. One good note is the person who checked me in was very professional and courteous.

This is definitely an older facility, and was the cheapest option to stay in Newton for a remote-control flying gathering in Newton (also the weekend of the State Fair). If you're traveling and all you need is a bed, a shower, and a reasonably quiet place, this is a good place to stop. The beds are not luxurious, and the "continental breakfast" is very basic. But it was convenient to the RC flying field we were visiting, and it was right off the highway. It was just what we needed when we needed to be there.

I guess I get what I paid for. The room was nice enough and clean. The breakfast was not good at all. It was powdered or chocolate donuts, a crunchy granola bar with juice. You could also have cold cereal or microwave oatmeal, but the microwave was broken and buttons did not work unless you pressed cook time. I would not recommend unless you were in a real pinch.

Pool Out of Service....indefinitely
We booked this hotel while on the road. We mainly chose it for the pictures of the pool and hot tub. We stopped our traveling early for the evening so we could enjoy a swim and relax in the hot tub. Upon arrival we see a sign on the pool room door that says it's closed for maintenence. We had to ring to the bell and wait for service. We were greeted by a very rude clerk that acted like it was a bother to wait on us. We asked when the pool would reopen and she rudely said never! I said we booked here because it had a pool so thats a real bummer. She said so are you saying you dont want to stay because if so you will have to call whoever you booked through to cancel. I can't do anything. We called and couldn't get through to a person to try to cancel. The room had old stained carpet with something gooey and sticky on it in front of the fridge. The fridge and freezer had a lot of water from condensation. The door did not have the bar lock and you could tell it had been broken off. The towels were pretty thin and there was hair in the tub. You could look down the drain in the sink and see that someone had lost a larger locket and it hadnt been removed. Other than that it was clean and comfortable. I think the poor service and the pool being closed set the tone for us being a little picky about the room. Our kids were very disappointed in the stay for sure.

Glad I was only staying one night. Desk clerk was unable to work the card machine. Check-in wasn’t smooth at all. Towels and sheets had stains all over them. AC unit was falling apart. Bed was very squeaky. Towel bar in shower fell off. No Kleenex where there should have been some. Soaps were used and broken.

Bed was comfortable. Room clean. Staff very friendly. Elevator was broken so had to use stairs. The continental breakfast lacked. It was only cereral, donuts, coffee and juice. Area was quiet even 4th of july weekend

I have stayed in a few sketchy places and while this location wasn't sketchy, the quality of our room wasn't even close to being up to par, but I just needed a bed to sleep in. The room smelled like marijuana every time we came back from wherever we were. Going back to the bed, the bars from the bed frame kept popping out of place and you would sink into the bed, as there was a hole for you to fall in. The biggest issue was our bathroom though. There was water damage on two spots of the ceiling. One above the toilet and one in the shower. I could deal with this as I have stayed in a few bad places before, BUT our first morning there somebody was taking a shower above us and water was dripping on me from the ceiling as I sat on the toilet and took a shower. This location has changed from owner to owner many of different times with a promise of being newly renovated (while they charge almost 100 bucks a night). It seems as a new coat of paint means it is newly renovated. I'm not upset as it was pretty clean and I really just need a bed to sleep in for the weekend, but I figured I would let other people know how my room was. I can't say any other room was of this condition, but ours was.
