Hosts on the Coast Whiritoa Retreat

Summary:

Whiritoa Retreat is a bright, welcoming home just waiting to welcome you in for your break away. The house has 3 bedrooms 2 of which have Queen beds, & the third room has 2 singles. There is 1 bathroom with shower, toilet & basin which is accessed from the hallway or the master bedroom, the lounge has plenty of seating with a TV and there is a dining table & chairs, & a well-equipped kitchen. Off the lounge is balcony area with BBQ & outdoor sofa. There is parking for a car on the grass area.



The Space:

Normally a sleepy town Whiritoa has only a couple of hundred permanent residents, over summer bach owners and holiday makers head here to enjoy the peace and quiet. It is located about 2 hours from Auckland and in between Waihi and Whangamata. There is a convenience store if you need to stock up and there is a library if you need to get some summer reading done! Whiritoa Beach is a surf beach and is a bit dodgy for swimming the surf lifeguards patrol during the summer and you must swim between the flags, at the north end of the beach is a lagoon which is a lot safer for swimming. if you keep walking past the lagoon there is a short walk to Waimama Bay which has gorgeous white sand and chrystal clear waters, along the beach are New Zealand's Christmas trees the Pohutukawa which in summer bursts with red flowers, this area is a photographer's dream. Whiritoa is the place to be if you are wanting a chill vibe, a great place to unwind.
