Plusses: architecture, room size, great bathrooms, spacious gym, staff was incredibly helpful and friendly
Minuses: Breakfast was OK; a little better than a Hampton Inn. And the TV’s need to be upgraded to streaming-capable.

"This was a lovely hotel, very close to the Skywalk, which is an amazing walking network, connecting much of the downtown area - safe, secure, and climate controlled. I was in a tournament at the Iowa Events Center and it was an easy 15 minute walk - no car, no hassle!

"Everything was very nice. There was some cosmetic issues in the bathroom specifically the sink area, chips and etc, also the kitchen area had the same problem. You need to do some fixing on the counter tops. There were no silverware in the kitchen. Only dinnerware. The pool was very nice. The staff was great. Would definitely stay again."

"This hotel is our first choice when staying in Des Moines. Rooms are clean, breakfast is more than adequate, and the staff is friendly. This time Housekeeping knocked on our door to ask if we needed linens, and when we returned to the room, extra towels had been placed in the bathroom. We're not high flyers, we like basic accommodations and have always been pleased with this hotel."

"The staff at the check in desk were so very helpful with arranging rooms closer together for my friend and I. They did it all with great humor. They answered all our questions about Uber, restaurants near the Civic Center, and helped me get signed into WiFi. The room was so spacious and clean and the bathroom was huge. One suggestion I have is to put grab bars in the shower, especially for those of us who aren’t as agile as we used to be. "
