"Very welcoming reception from the host. We stayed for two nights and had a fantastic cooked breakfast each morning. My wife is coeliac and was well catered for. This B&B is ideally suited for the city centre, has close transport links and also provides on-street parking.
I highly recommend this place and would definitely stay here again. "

"Lovely B&B. The building is grand and the rooms are big and airy. Free WiFi, iron and board, huge bathroom, dressing table with cotton wool balls etc Breakfast was lovely, full English, cereal, fruit and yoghurt nothing was too much trouble. If we are ever back in Carlisle we will stay here again 😊"

"Would highly recommend the Cartref guest house. The room was cosy, clean and modern. It’s like home from home the host (Melanie) was very personable and friendly, nothing was too much trouble and will cater to your needs. Overall and lovely and relaxing experience "

Upon arrival we found the reception staff to be very disengaged and hardly shared any warm words of welcome, nor where they supportive in aiding us to find Parking as "all free spots were taken".
When we signed out after 2 nights, the reception again hardly bothered looking at us nor say thank you and hope you had a nice stay, I had to ask if all was okay and we could...

"Everthing to our satisfaction. Lovely comfortable cosy bed. Room very clean and welcoming. Have stayed here on a few occasions and will continue to do so. Hotel is within walking distance to City Centre and minutes from the Railway Station

"First impression were great, plenty of parking, very friendly staff. Room clean but slightly tired. That drawback was more than made up for by the amazing food. We the steak pie and the clam chowder. Both were fantastic, very tasty very filling. Breakfast the next day was great as well. Will be back if we're ever in the area."

"We had a lovely stay at Woodlands Country House. The room was very clean and comfortable. It was a great base to explore the wonderful Lake District and surrounds. Daryl and Naomi are great hosts.
