When we got there we found 1) No way to secure our belongings, since door locks were not working, 2) no A/C in the main rooms and 90 degrees without fans, 3) Open access from the public beach, 4) cockroaches, 5) bad neighborhood without the listed local restaurants and shops, 6) Poorly maintained pool, barbeque, and other amenities. "Coco surf really outdid themselves. Me and my family took a family vacation and this place did not disappoint at all. We loved how safe we felt. "Very nice stay. Loved that El Tunco is right behind the property.. access to beach, restaraunts all in the backyard. The staff was great. Wanted to leave (late check out) and was told we couldn’t after calling the night before because someone booked the room. That was disappointing but we were able to stay on the resort until 4pm. Room was small for two if you want space but amazing view, clean, food was okay and bar was a nice vibe. Got a massage for 1 hour for $50. All in all had a great time!"

A walk along the streets, shops, and street vendors make for a colorful experience but be prepared to sweat as virtually nothing is air conditioned except our hotel room that was a great refuge from the heat. This hotel was the right place to stay and we will return. Wait staff in restaurant was only average, but rest of staff was great! Breakfast ok with no substitution made choice more complicated... "

"I had a great experience with El Xalli. The room we stayed in was great. The kitchen was well stocked, the rooms were large and the entire facility is well maintained.
It was a bit far from venues but we Ubered to a lot of places which was fine. However, I would recommend fixing the entrance because a lot of ubers would nit drive up the hill.
Other than that. It was great. "

We stayed at the villas and are beautiful with a small private pool.
We didn’t know that there was another common pool where the villas were. Nobody told us. We saw it on our last day. It was a shame but ok.
