"The smell of marijuana was overwhelming! It states no cigarettes or smoking on the property yet when it was mentioned they said they sprayed. The smells of whatever they cleaned with was also overpowering."

"The staff was very kind and helpful. We had an experience last year with a smart Alec at the check-in desk, but we did not see him this year. We have stayed at this location many times and will continue to stay here. The location is mostly quiet or as quiet as can be on the oceanfront which is one of the reasons we stay at this location. Most restaurants we prefer are within a 15 minute drive and Waterman’s restaurant is only 2 blocks away, great walk on boardwalk. My only comment may be...

"First, the great stuff. Linens, floors, bath were clean. Some scuffs and missing paint as this is older hotel but housekeeping was excellent. Right at Beach and every room has ocean view balcony. Bed was comfy, but very high off floor. AC was fine. Shower was wimpy. They are not serving breakfast now but there is a nice serve yourself coffee maker with multi choice selections and cold water on tap free of charge. Close to many shops, eats and an amusement park. Construction on one side....

"The light in our bathroom didn't want to turn on half the time. The tv was small. The air conditioner made strange noises. One elevator worked and it was slow. The parking was not the greatest. The staff were aloof, to boot."

"Days inn Virginia Beach - not right on the beach but you can see it over the road between the hotels that are on the beach. Good enough and the price is way better. I stayed in the older side on ground level. Convenient and decent on noise. People coming and going, jets low and noisy every so often. Not going to get away from that. Bathroom walls and ceiling peeling. Seen worse. Room and property were clean. Couldn't find a snack vending machine but only searched about a quarter of the hotel....

"Liked that the sky view room on the 7th floor was spacious and updated. The pull out sofa was broken but the sofa itself was clean and comfortable . Loved location,view and front desk staff were great!"

"The room was clean and comfortable, with plenty of space for 5 people. They accommodated our dog with a reasonable fee. For a last minute trip, the Garner was affordable and convenient. Great location, friendly staff, and all of the basics for a few days at the beach. Early check-in was appreciated. Overall, would recommend for budget travel."
