Bohemian artsy laid back humble home with a cottage feel.
One block from the Malicon boardwalk in the lazy town of Esperanza… with beach, bars, restaurants and tours.
Authentic Vieques dwelling…This apartment boasts 2 inviting bedrooms with 2 queen beds. The charming living room includes a futon for extra guests. Guests can enjoy amenities like WiFi, AC in the bedrooms and a washer/dryer. Serine back deck in fenced yard.. great for morning coffee or night time cocktails. Or watching the many wild chickens and cats that frequent the area. The bathroom features a hairdryer and a heated shower. Experience what Vieques has to offer with a stay at our adorable apartment. *please note: -the yard is natural, with many trees and foliage similar to a wooded area, not a grassy lawn. -bugs are part of Caribbean island living… the house is sprayed regularly and windows screened, but please note that due to the tropical climate and heavy foliage surrounding the home this does not mean you may not see a bug.

Casa Mango was magic for our family of five. It fits in with the Esperanza vibe in the best possible way. The host was extremely responsive, replying to two questions we had during our stay within minutes in each instance. We only used a couple of the beach equipment items, but there are many things on hand for kids and other beach goers if anything gets left behind. We did hear noise at night from roosters and street traffic — but this was more a flair of authenticity than a bother for us. And the street noise seemed to dissipate by around 11 pm each night. The place was clean, we did see a spider here and there, but we didn’t mind. The house strikes a peaceful balance with the nature surrounding it. It’s a great place for mid-sized families like ours who have kids that are entertained, not frightened, by friendly stray cats, chickens, and the occasional horse walking down the street. The air-conditioning units do their jobs in bedrooms at night and windows don’t have glass but fans and natural airflows keep the temperature in check during the day. It isn’t new or especially modern but the important things work. We rested well at night and rested comfortable during the day when it rained. What most stands out about the place is the incredible overall value, convenient location, and uniqueness for those looking for a little more than just a sterile beach vacation. We would love to stay here again!

We stayed with two adults and two kids (11&13), and their location was excellent. Walk to the beach. We love the cat food and the chicken food so we could feed the animals in the backyard. The garden was very peaceful. It was very spacious for four people. There are multiple rooms to hang out in.The host has provided boogie boards, coolers etc. And there is lots of linen. It’s a laid back vibe. We loved feeding chickens and cats Our advice would be to bring earplugs and sleep in the bedroom with less windows because the chickens do start squawking from 3 AM onwards. Also bring mosquito spray at sundown as you are in guys, a rainforest type jungle, so prepare for mosquitoes. With one shower/washroom, any more than four people would be trickyBut we love the location and had a very nice three night Stay there. Esperanza Beach is a beautiful vibeI’m a seasoned backpacker, and it was very easy for me.

The house is exotic and bohemian-- very fun! It's very spacious, and is on grounds that are also amply big. It's well-equipped, including with sweet cats, roosters, hens and chicks that live outside. You get a true Vieques experience here. And the location is perfect! It's walking distance to many restaurants and to the promenade along the water, and very short drives to all the great beaches on the south side of the island. We found that we could use fans to stay cool, and loved the comfy sitting room. The shower is great, and wifi works very well.April was a very responsive and helpful host. We'd certainly recommend her place to others!

Absolutely loved this home for our stay! Much more spacious than expected. Well stocked and cleaned compared to other island properties. Beds were exceptionally comfortable as well. Would recommend and stay again.

Casa Mango is such a lovely house - plenty of space and a terrific location. April was a great host - quick to respond and the place was well stocked with everything we needed. We loved all the chickens and it felt like a home away from home

House was clean and well stocked with amenities. Plenty of beach towels!! Kitchen was well stocked and beds were super comfy. A/C worked excellent in the bedrooms. Host was very accommodating and responsive. Location could not have been any better - right up the street from Lazy Jack’s!! Thank you!!

Not at all like the photos or reviews led us to expect. Unclean - thick dust and cobwebs, mold, unwashed dishes and moldy food in cupboard. Faulty shower that was impossible to even use. Host agreed to cancel after one night once we sent pictures. She said she would refund the unused nights but our refund was much less than it should have been including a charge for extra guest which we didn’t have. Host said VRBO decided on refund amount but VRBO said host informed them of the refund amount. Grateful to VRBO customer service who finally got it straightened out and we got our full refund. But very disappointing that we had to use up two days of our vacation to find a new place, move between places, and get this mess resolved.

Not a great stay for me. Between the roosters and the malfunctioning air conditioning units, it was always incredibly loud. Not peaceful at all. I somehow got more mosquito bites and various insect bites inside that house than on any beach or outdoors. I knew the AC was going to be in the room, I guess I just thought it would extend to other parts of the home. It did not. It’s was an unbearably uncomfortable stay for me, constantly itchy, sweating and alarmed. I will also say I was working through the stay and was asked to put myself on mute on a zoom call due to the alarming and distracting sounds of the roosters. Maybe if you’re only using the space to sleep and you’re okay sleeping underneath layers of bug spray you’ll have a more pleasant time.

Great house with lots of character. There are AC units in the bedrooms, but not the rest of the house. There are lots of stray cats and chickens, and the host provides feed for both, if you are an animal lover. My little girl LOVES animals, so she had a great time feeding the animals and enjoying them. She was disappointed that the roosters would not let her pet them or hold them ;) We had a large family group, but this host worked with our hosts across the street so we could all stay close together. Lots of beach gear is provided at this house, so you don’t need to bring all your stuff on the ferry. This house is also very close to the beach and strip where everything happens. You can take a Público from the ferry to this house and then just walk around from there.

Magnificent Mango

This property was beyond gorgeous. It was among beautiful trees keeping the house cool and the animals were a sweet and fun addition. Everything was so clean and just so gorgeous. Even better than the pictures. The host, April, was very kind and quick to answer and gave amazing tips! We will definitely be staying here again!

Sweet bohemian cottage, great for our family

We stayed for 4 comfortable nights. Location is great for walking to restaurants, shops, and the malecon blvd in Esperanza, but we were glad to have our rental truck to drive all over the island. We were glad to have AC window units in the bedrooms for sleeping. Our kids were entertained by the sweet kitties and wild chickens and did not mind not having a TV. Our host was helpful and responded to our questions about local establishments to visit and eat at. We would definitely stay at Casa Mango again!! Next time hopefully we stay longer than 4 nights.

Spacious, quaint, comfortable, and close to everything!Well-supplied and appointed, with large bedrooms and comfy beds, a great shower, and a lot of living space.The deck was a really nice place for us to unwind with snacks and drinks, as well as be entertained by sweet cats and colorful chickens.April’s place offered up an authentic Puerto Rican lodging experience and is close to everything!Air conditioning units in each bedroom cooled us off, but weren’t needed much, as the villa is nicely shaded.Communication before, during, and after our trip was prompt and helpful.
