I can't say enough good things about this house in Verona-- we stayed here for five weeks during the summer of 2014, and quite honestly I'd move in if I could! The location is ideal-- river views on a quiet street, yet you are a two blocks away from restaurants, cafes and shops. The center of town (the Verona Arena) is a seven or eight minute walk.
The home is within walking distance of the train station (if you don't mind a good walk, that is-- it's a 20-25 minute walk)-- if you prefer to take a bus, there are several bus lines that leave from the Arena and head to the train station or to Lake Garda (or the airport), so you'll be in easy reach of just about anywhere you'd like to go. Once you reach the train station, you are on a direct line between Venice and Milan (and you can transfer to just about anywhere from Milan). Lake Garda is a fifteen minute train ride away, and there are several public beaches that you can access when you are there (and a trip up Mount Baldo is always nice-- the hiking is great). If you'd like to head to the Dolomites, Verona is a great jumping off point.
This is a very safe location and due to the shows in the summer there are people out and about quite late. I felt completely comfortable walking to and from the center of town with my two children late at night.
I highly recommend this home!
