Hiking is also possible, along the mill pond, through the nearby Varel forest, the Neuenburg primeval forest or the Herrenneuen, which is only 1 km away. Wellness fans are also catered for, with the sauna area at the Mühlenteich nearby. You can enjoy the sun in the afternoon on your large private west-facing balcony. The house with the holiday flat is surrounded by a beautiful garden for communal use. The various garden spaces have been created with a lot of love and energy over the past 30 years. The garden is a cheerful sea of colour from February to October. Boxwood hedges surround the herbaceous beds. A 20 metre long stream babbles past the perennials and flows into a small garden pond with goldfish. Cherries, apples, pears, currants, figs and the vegetable garden invite you to snack. Thanks to the many seating areas, you can always find a sunny or shady place to sit, depending on your needs. A large insect nesting house (bee hotel, insect hotel) provides a home for many hymenoptera, for example, and invites you to observe nature in a special way. Relax on the large furnished terrace for five people, on the garden lounger or in the beach chair. A barbecue and an electric barbecue are also available. The holiday flat also has a separate entrance, a car parking space and a ground-level bicycle garage, and we have recently planted a flowering area of 1000 square metres with 150 different flowers.

Nordic walking is also possible, through the nearby Varel forest, the Neuenburg primeval forest or the Herrenneuen, which is only one kilometre away. Wellness fans are also well catered for, with the sauna area at Mühlenteich in the immediate vicinity. Here in Friesland/Ammerland you can experience nature in a variety of ways: Dreamy moors, tranquil forests and the natural heritage of the Wadden Sea. Right on the doorstep you will find fantastic cycling and hiking routes in all directions. We recommend cycling GPS tours through Ammerland and Friesland, for example. Well signposted routes and maps invite you to enjoy beautiful cycle tours; the Ammerland Route, from castle to castle, the Moor Route, the Tour de Fries, Friesischer Heerweg, Deutsche Fehnroute etc. Guided tours in the afternoon or at weekends are also possible. There is a pick-up service for tailwind riders. Hiking tours are also possible with the sat nav. The region is also very well known for its good cuisine, so there are many restaurants with delicious fish specialities fresh from the pan or asparagus dishes in Obenstrohe, Varel, Dangast and the surrounding area. Paddling is possible on the Wapel, the Hunte and from Sande to Wilhelmshaven on the Ems-Jade Canal. There are tarmac paths and roads around the holiday flat that are ideal for inline skating. It is only three kilometres to the Bernsteinsee lake in Conneforde, five kilometres to the outdoor pool in Varel, seven kilometres to the Bockhorn leisure pool and 12 kilometres to the Dangast beach. There are countless opportunities to organise your leisure time individually; a guided mudflat hike in the Wadden Sea World Heritage Site, a visit to the East Frisian Islands, Jaderberg Zoo and Leisure Park, the Naval Museum in Wilhelmshaven, the Emigration House and the Climate House in Bremerhaven, etc. Sporty guests will find a climbing forest and football golf in Conneforde, three kilometres away. The Waldschlösschen Mühlenteich, just two kilometres away, offers a wellness oasis with sauna and much more.
