This property was perfect for our extended family vacation, and the host is very responsive. We had a lot of rain during the week, but the game and theater rooms kept everyone happy. The lake is just beautiful. Renting the boat, tubing, along with the kayaks we brought, made exploring the area exceptional. We are looking forward to coming back!I do want to echo what others have said however, about the amount of stairs and how slippery they become when wet. Those with any limits on mobility may want to consider this.

Our visit was quite and peacefull celebrating our Anniversary going to Highlands to visit waterfalls and antiquing , then bryson city to hit the shops that were lit up for christmas , the cabin was clean and cozy cant wait to come back with all the family, thank you for the memories

The views are absolutely breathtaking! It's our home away from home. We love this cabin. We've been coming for our annual girls trip for the past 5 years. We all agree, we'll never book another location/cabin!

We had the most amazing stay at this cabin in Topton, NC. The place is spotless, cozy, had high speed internet and perfectly tucked away in the mountains — the ideal spot to relax and unwind. The views are absolutely breathtaking, especially at sunrise and sunset. The cabin had everything I needed, from a fully equipped kitchen to super comfortable beds and a peaceful porch to enjoy my morning coffee.Whether you’re looking to hike, fish, or just enjoy some quiet time in nature, this is the perfect spot. I can’t recommend it enough and can’t wait to come back!

House was much bigger than the pictures showed on the listing. Lots of steps inside and out but overall a great place for a big group. The downstairs master bedroom was absolutely beautiful with a great view of the lake and a balcony. Recommend for anyone who doesn’t have mobility issues. Loved it !

Stairway to Heaven

We thoroughly enjoyed staying here. This is our third year vacationing on Nantahala Lake and have tried to stay in different places—this is one of our favorites!From playing in the jacuzzi to tubing on the lake, playing pool to foosball, and relaxing on the multi-level balconies and theater room—it was all so much fun. We dubbed this place the Stairway to Heaven because we counted approximately 222 stairs from the top room to the boat dock—great workout and great fun!

The house was very nice and comfortable. Pay attention to the cons from other reviews and to the honest description of the property and access. There are some real challenges there. We enjoyed our stay and the overall experience was great

Amazingly beautiful lake front house

We had an amazing time with family. The house had everything we needed for a baby and toddlers. Plenty of room for a large family. We also rented the pontoon boat and ventured out on the most beautiful lake! The cool water was enjoyed by the kids and well as most of us adults! Would recommend to any family for a good timed in the mountains!

Our family had a fantastic stay at this beautiful lakeside cabin in a gated community! The home was spotless, beautifully decorated, and had everything we needed for a comfortable vacation. The kitchen was well-equipped, the beds were comfortable, and the location was perfect for exploring and enjoying the very beautiful and quiet lake. The host was incredibly responsive and helpful throughout the booking process and our stay. We especially appreciated being able to include usage of the grill and more so the pontoon boat. We highly recommend this property and will definitely book it again!

Beautiful house…over all it was enjoyable. A couple of notes - The lake was down quite a bit. The hot tub was damaged, and the stairs down to the water were fairly sketchy… the pontoon boat took a good bit of parking area. Lighting to the door could be SIGNIFICANTLY improved, and the steps leading to the deck/door (only way into the house) were very treacherous and slippery - some steps even rotted away entirely

Great stay in awesome house!

Weather would not cooperate so we were so glad there were a ton of things to do inside the house!! Rented the boat for an extra day and the lake could not be more beautiful!! Great neighborhood and a great place for the whole family. Highly recommend

Nice relaxing and adventurous visit

Nice lodge with plenty of rooms on beautiful lake. Nice place to relax after two days on the Nantahala river. Wish it had WiFi. Also having to drive several miles to dump trash. Why can’t maids take out the trash?

We enjoyed our stay at the Lake Nantahala lakefront house. The five children in our group (ages 2-11) had a blast. The house is four stories with lots of rooms and closets which was great for hide and seek. The game room was a big hit with foosball, pool, hockey sticks, and a miniature corn hole game. One night we watched a movie in the theater room. You get your exercise on the steps that go down to the lake. Once there, the floating dock is in good condition with a good ladder. There is a big blow-up trampoline in the water and tubes to float on. There is no beach as the slope down to the lake is steep. When you get to the lake it is about a foot deep, but not good for wading due to the silt that gets stirred up. However, the lake is awesome for swimming and jumping off the dock. We did not rent the boat, but it looked in good condition. Though the new bimini top needs to be installed and one of the seats needs to be fixed. There were life jackets and a tube for tubing. The kitchen was well equipped. The cleaning crew did a good job of cleaning such a large house, however, some deep cleaning is needed (ie, exhaust fans in bathrooms, we cleaned the mildew in the dishwasher). There were houses on both sides, but the lots are large and wooded, so you had privacy. Luckily we did not need to drive to town for supplies as I don't think it is a quick drive. Overall we enjoyed our time there.

Our week at this beautiful home on Nantahala Lake was everything we hoped for and more! The house was very clean and welcoming. Balconies looking out over the lake, tall trees & mountains. We loved waking up to the cool mountain air and ending our days in the hot tub watching the sun set over the water. Plenty of private space, it was so fun exploring all of the floors and property. There was plenty of room for everyone, with two master bedrooms, 3 other bedrooms, a cozy loft, and a huge game room downstairs. A movie theater room that quickly became our favorite hangout spot. The private dock was perfect for fishing, swimming, or just sitting quietly and taking in the view.Coming from Florida, seeing the fall colors in October was absolutely breathtaking. It was one of those trips that left us feeling refreshed, grateful, and already planning our next visit back.We can’t recommend this place enough!

Needed a good cleaning

It was ok. The entire cabin needed a good cleaning. Walls and ceilings were very dusty. Also none of the pathway lights worked. And the steps and walk way leadi f to the cabin were in very bad shape and was not easy to walk with babies and elderly people. We will not be staying there again.

Nice house, few issues

Overall the house is nice, we could not use the hot tub as it was dirty and when we turned it on, it was filled with a lot of foam and chlorine smell was unbearable. The key box is difficult to open. Taking out trash required us to drive 30 minutes one way!!! Otherwise they threatened to charge us for each trash bag. There are over 100 steep stairs to the lake, keep it in mind.

Plenty of room

It needs a good deep cleaning , air vents were filthy and a concern for some with allergy asthma issues and house was very stuffy. It did air out though. It had not been swept we did that but there was a lot of it and dog hair . The up side plenty of room inside and parking is better than most. Patio couch was not there which was advertised. I would go again after a good cleaning.

Photos Do Not Do Justice

The house is far bigger than expected and it was a nice surprise. I would recommend putting better photos to receive more bookings. The WiFi comments are all true. There is no cell phone reception within a 10 mile radius of house which is a little scary until you get connected to internet. Trash Drop off is 27 minutes away from house. Would be ideal to share the working hours of location before driving there. Other than that the house itself is perfect.
