"We had a great stay at Laguna Surf Lodge. Staff were friendly and very attentive. Great ocean view from our balcony. Only minus was that there was no gym available."

"Location was beautiful and convenient. The room had a view of the ocean and a porch to sit on (we were on second floor. The door to the room was a dutch door which was fun and let in the breeze. Great amenities including a record player and records. Very charming lobby with a fireplace and small bar and bookshelves - almost like a B&B. They serve food albeit limited. We just had a drink outside. I wish we could have stayed more days. "

"The check-in was uncomfortable. The lady behind the counter basically seemed like she was having a bad day. I am Danish and forgot my passport, but I had a picture of it on my phone and my American friend offered HIS identification. She did not want that. She made it seem impossible for us to check in. Like we woud have to leave - too bad! Then she finally called her boss who obviously told her to let us check in! Other than that, lovely place and lovely service. I wrote them in advance that...

"Very kind and attentive staff. The rooms are beautiful, housekeeping on top of their game. Front desk knows how to take care of the guests. Bartenders make excellent drinks and deal with a barrage of guests when they come in from events that have ended around the city. It's a gorgeously decorated place, very inviting. "

"Though this is not a new hotel, our room was updated, clean and comfortable. The property is kept up nicely. Parking is free and there is complimentary coffee in the lobby area. The staff was friendly and accommodating. It's a nice hotel with good value for the area. One negative is that there is traffic noise from the main road out front, but that would be the case with most any hotel on the main road in Laguna Beach. "
