  • Experience Chihuahuan Desert living like a local! 34’ Fifth Wheel RV with 2 slideouts. Air conditioned and under large shade structure. Fenced/gated yard for privacy. Fully furnished kitchen. Linens and bedding provided. WiFi and phone. Firepit available in property.
    Below famous Nine Point Mesa, on Texas Mountain Trail. Gateway to Big Bend. ¼ Mile to Little Burro Country Store and Pavilion. 56.5 miles south of Alpine; 25 miles north of Big Bend National Park.

    CATS ARE ON PROPERTY WITH ACCESS TO STORAGE UNDER THE UNIT FOR DESERT CRITTER CONTROL. THEY ARE ON FULL TIME DUTY. THEY DO NOT ENTER THE TRAILER.

Kitchen had all the essentials. I brought cases of water with me as the water in tanks is not "potable". The scenery and peaceful atmosphere, night sky was amazing. Stay was enjoyable & good value

It was very clean, and the bed was comfy, the kitchen had everything we needed. We had a fire outside and watched the beautiful stars, only three cars drove by so it was nice and dark! I only wish the location was closer to the park, about 45 min, but that’s my fault, I should’ve looked! Otherwise, I would recommend.

Our host, Ms Pam was great. The futon in the living room is not very comfortable. The bed in the bedroom was great! Little trash can in the kitchen is broken. Be careful of the cute donkeys that run loose on the main highway.Fire pit rocked, kitchen was well stocked. Propane grill worked great. The stars were unbelievable. Without too much of a line at the part entrance. You can make the basin in about an hour.

Perfect base camp for spending time in Big Bend NP. Dark skies were awesome!

Big Bend Trip

A great quiet place near the highway with a straight shot to Big Bend National Park. Enjoyed my stay here!

The RV was typical for an RV. Not something everyone is going to like. We loved it and its surroundings. You could see the sunrise from inside if you didn’t want to bundle up and go outside. The views are spectacular. The stars abundant. The little store next door very helpful.

Great place in the desert!

Comfortable place close to terlingua, and BBNP! Really great views of the sky at night. Clean and comfortable, great internet.

Excellent Get Away

We enjoyed the remoteness but it was centrally located for our purpose. We enjoyed the dark skies, the sun rise and sun set.

Perfect location for stargazing

Location was easy to find in the day but we could see having difficulty arriving the first time after dark. The location was peaceful and quiet and perfect for stargazing.

Secluded Desert Stay

This place was perfect for our girls trip. The RV was the perfect size for us. We make smores and sausage on the fire. The sky at night was absolutely beautiful.

Beautiful location

The location is amazing. The views both at night and during the dawn/dusk times are worth being away from town. The RV is really all anyone would want for a couple. Be aware that the layout of the RV has steps that are a challenge for anyone with any walking disabilities. Everything else is wonderful.

A wonderful host!

We had the best time! It was wonderful to have the Little Burro Country Store close by. I loved how remote it felt and yet how close it was to services in Terlingua. The place was well appointed, clean, and beautiful. Everyone involved in hosting was gracious and kind. We will be back!

Big Bend Adventure

The camper was exactly as described. We enjoyed the peaceful and quiet evenings on the patio. Did not use the stove or oven but we did use the outdoor gas grill. The propane heater worked great to take off the morning chill.Would stay here again without hesitation.Thank you.

Perfect Big Bend Winter Escape

This was the perfect place for my winter Big Bend getaway. The place is comfortable and accurately described. Don't let the distance from the park fool you; it is an easy beautiful drive into and out of the park. The host was friendly and accessible. DO follow the directions and arrive by day the first time. Once you've found it, you'll have no problems finding it at night after a long day in the park.

A little disappointed upon arrival. We could not get in, lock was jammed or something like it. We called for help, and it came quickly. Once inside, it appeared no one had been in it for a while. The bathroom and kitchen area had quite a few creepy crawlies, mostly daddy longlegged spiders. Also needed help getting the wi-fi up, which was also resolved quickly. We had not planned on cooking much, but would like to have used the oven. We could not get it on as the instructions in the booklet did not seem to match the oven that was there.Outside on the patio, birds had built nests in the covered shelter. There was evidence all around. We did however bring our own chairs.In spite of all the little issues, we did enjoy our stay. It was perfectly located for our purposes, about 20 miles north of the Study Butte/Terlingua area. It is an isolated spot, perfect for wanting to get away from it all!

This is a very private desert property. Its not big on amenities. What it offers is a beautiful view of the night skies. A nice fire pit and plenty of solitude. We arrived on motorcycles and with the help of goggle earth it wasn't too difficult to find. We rode all day and sat around the campfire at night. Other than the occasional traveler passing by on the 118 we saw nobody. Theres a little general store nearby that closes promptly at 6:30. If you want to separate the kids from their cell phones and gadgets this is the place for you.

Great getaway in the desert

The property is great, especially if you are accustomed to staying in an RV. The indoor and outdoor spaces are comfortable and inviting with amazing views of the sunrise over the mountains. The kitchen space is clean and stocked well enough to prepare most meals. Everything works as it should. The only downside to our experience was a pretty noticeable odor during our stay. At first it just seemed like the kind of smell you notice the first time visiting someone's house, but over the course of the three nights we stayed it seemed to become a stronger odor. I can not fault the owner because we did not contact them regarding the smell since it didn't really affect our stay. It was honestly not even that noticeable until the second or third night. Overall, it is a great property and I would definitely recommend it to anyone who has been in an RV or can read and follow simple directions for using appliances and the like.

Great for solitude and closeness to Big Bend

I had a great solitary trip to this area and had a nice stay in the 5th wheel. This property is exactly as pictured and described. Nothing is close in the area, but this property is a great out-of- the-way home base to jump off and explore all that this gorgeous area of TX has to offer. Would definitely work for a couple. I spent most of my time on the patio with the beautiful view of the mountains. Patio has plenty of shade from early afternoon through evening. Highly recommend! PS: The directions offered by the owner are detailed and precise. I had ZERO issues finding the property. Definitely arrive during daytime. Google Earth is your friend. 1 minute of research will give you visual help in identifying how far from Little Burro Country Story it is.
